The interface is ****in unbareable. The fonts, even at 1600x1200 looks like its been made for 8 years olds so they can read.
While in levels, the proportion isnt right. The door seems to big and the rooms are too small. Gameplay...huh..? wheres the gameplay? Oh great i can sneak, shoot or hack....and the hacking is me pressing the left MB. OH THATS INOVATIVE...

Quick Demo Review.....let me first say that Deus Ex is in my all-time top 3 for games (Played System Shock, Cybermage and System Shock 2 too).

PC:
Athlon XP 2,6+ @ asus nforce 2 motherboard
512 DDR Ram
GForce FX 5800
SB Live

(not state of the art, but not outdated either imho)

1.)Graphics/Physics etc.:

Kinda disappointing. Without the Lights&Shadows it almost looks like DX 1...just look at the Textures...low-res. This wouldnt be that much of a problem to me since fancy graphics arent everything, but here the weak performance comes in. FPS 20-40 @ 1024x768 and <30 mostly @ 1280x1024 isnt enough for this graphics. There are games which just look so stunning that im willing to accept low FPS (e.g. Splinter Cell, and even this had more FPS @1280x1024 than DX:IW), there are games where graphics are kinda standard or even below but then they at least perform good. DX:IW ....graphics are nothing more than ok or even less and it performs very weak. It seems as if they didnt care to optimize the game even a bit. "But look at the omfg cool real-time lighting" u say ? Splinter Cell had that too, looked way better overall and performed better. "Hey but it got this ultra-cool physics-engine!"....Ye...Max Payne 2 has it too and guess what....looks & performs better too. Talking bout MP2....this is an excellent example of what is possible....Excellent Graphics and great performance even on not-so-state-of-the-art-comps. Excellent Visuals and therefore lower FPS is acceptable, not-so-great graphics but good FPS is acceptable, not-so-great graphics AND low FPS isnt acceptable. Next-Generation Graphics ? Definitely not....more like hardware-hungry as next-gen-graphics but looking almost like dx1 expect for realtime-lightning and havoc engine.

2.)Gameplay/Interface/Controls/Menus etc.:
Gameplay seems to be simplified too much imho. Interface/Controls are a pain in the ass and dont take advantage of PC-Controls either ("Press Enter to...", "Press Tab to..." etc...hey i got a mouse ) Subtitles are way too big (probably adapted to xbox-gamers sitting 5 meters away from their TV :P), Menus look cheap and could be easier to use also. All in all the game seems to be VERY simplified and dumped down compared to DX 1. Besides that it doesnt seem to save any settings changes i do, even if no game files are read-only.

Note that i wrote more about graphics than about the game itself....doesnt mean i put graphics over gameplay but graphics were easier to describe for me. I usually hate this "dumped down for console" term, but it seems to fit in here. Best example are menus, interface, controls and the big subtitles. Looks pretty cheap and unfinished while some other games manage to look polished and perfect here (hope u know what i mean).
End of Story...this game achieved the opposite of its purpose...im not going to wait to next year till it comes out in Europe and buy it then...going to by Star Wars:KOTOR next Week instead.
Prolly many ppl will like the game and i dont say its a bad game, but for someone who loved DX 1 and wanted to play a PC-Game, this is kinda disappointing.
