Un c'avevo niente da fare ed ho pensato di fare bene invece...
Poco fa mi diceva di non trovare swap (e non avevo home) ho eseguito fsck e mo non parte proprio più - riprovo a sistemare col backup della p.t. vediamo che ne vien fuori (comunque la home la vedo da windows, invece root mi dice di riformattare)

ma lascia stare cio che ti dice un cavolo di programma da windows che non sa un cavolo di un sistema come linux...

Comunque sarà per fsck o altro mo la root la indica come unallocated

Prova File-Roller invece di xArchiver.
Per lo scaling non dipende dal DE e dalla sua versione ma dipende dalla presenza o meno dei pacchetti che permettono di fas scalare la frequenza.

il consiglio su file roller lo applico subito
in quanto allo scaling della cpu con l'applet di gnome su gentoo ce lo avevo ma su debian (forse perchè ho gnome 2.14 e su gentoo avevo il 16) con gli stessi moduli di gestione della cpu mi fa solo da visualizzatore

mi sono fatto un bellissimo tema per il bootsplash modificandone uno di gentoo
il tema dunque è per fbsplash, e visto che anch'io ho fbsplash visto che uso il kernel beyond vorrei sapere come faccio a metterlo
il kernel in teoria è configurato bene
ho preso il tema e lo messo in /etc/bootsplash/themes e gli ho creato il link simbolico sempre sulla stessa directory "current", non so perchè ma l'unico tema che cera ce l'aveva.
ora, su gentoo era da creare un'immagine con geninitrd ma su debian non so manco da dove iniziare,

per me è importante

una volta testato e dopo le ultime correzioni lo metterò su kde-look.

per il framebuffer è necessario modficiare il file di configurazione del bootloader sempre ammesso che il kernel lo supporti.

ho seguito la guida, nel kernel ho mesa il vesa-tng con l'impostazione
1280x800-32@60
se faccio

e già li cè qualcosa che non va

installo cmq il pacchetto splashutils ma quando vado a creare l'immagine secondo guida mi dice che non esiste il programma splash_geninitramfs

Raga esistono dei repositories debian "non ufficiali" più aggiornati rispetto a quelli ufficiali? Lo chiedo perchè mi trovo costretto a dover installare i seguenti software su di un portatile che utilizzerò all'università ma non vorrei cambiare distro (una sarge) perchè c sn affezionato >___<

Xfce 4.4.0 (nessun motivo in particolare, mi piace troppo ^__^)
Inkscape 0.45 (per il nuovo effetto blur)
Blender 2.43 (per lo sculpt mode)
OpenOffice 2.1

Quello che chiedo son principalmente pacchetti binari, non ho tanta voglia di star lì a compilarmi tutto da capo. Però se mi dite che c'è un metodo di compilarli una volta e poi di crearmi un bel pacchetto da conservare e da riprendere all'occorrenza, anche se non lo preferisco, ma è comunque già qualcosa ^___^

PS: esiste un modo per installare Writer, Impress e Calc della suite OpenOffice senza installare di conseguenza anche tutti gli altri applicativi? Ho provato a fare un "apt-get install writer impress calc" ma mi installa quasi tutto OpenOffice >___<

purtroppo non posso fare nussuna prova dato che non ho debian installata (o meglio funzionante) e soprattutto non ho mai usato uno splashscreen per il boot.

cmq ti ringrazio lo stesso
visto che ci sono vi chiedo come posso cambiare tema e specialmente dimensione dei fonts delle apps gtk come nerolinux (nerolinux è un esempio ma ovviamente preferisco usare k3b , ma ho molte apps simili)
io ho installato il pacchetto
gtk-theme-switch
e con il comando switch mi viene fuori una GUI ma mi dà questo errore nella console se provo a cambiare tema o font:

questo è il mio grub.lst e chidendo e girovagando ho capito che forse il problema che quando esco da X il monitor è nero è dovuto al framebuffer (grazie anche a Sirus).
