[Cisco 827] Problemi con stampante di rete xerox

Ho una stampante xerox phaser 6100DN acquistata pochi giorni fa e collegata alla rete locale tramite interfaccia di rete interna con un proprio webserver.
Nella stessa rete locale sono presenti 8 client tutti con sistema operativo microsoft NT based, un print server HP Jetdirect 170X, un access point, ed un router cisco 827.
Tutti i dispositivi sono sulla stessa sottorete.
Il Problema è che quando accendo la Phaser va giù inspiegabilmente la connessione internet.
Inizialmente pensavo che bastava togliere il gateway (ovviamente impostato secondo l'indirizzo del router) ma il problema persiste e a quanto ho potuto vedere si verifica mentre fa lo startup dell'interfaccia di rete della stampante paralizzandomi il router.
Quelli dell'assistenza xerox oltre a non essere per nulla competenti in materia, non ci hanno capito un gran che e mi hanno liquidato dicendo che era per forza un problema della mi a rete locale.
Ero indeciso se postarlo in reti o stampanti, se qualche moderatore lo ritiene oppourtuno gentilmente sposti di sezione la discussione.

Ringrazio chiunque vorra aiutarmi a capirci qualcosa.

up, ho appurato che il router più che bloccarsi si resetta infatti dopo un pò riprende sia portante adsl che connettività.

up, nessuno che riesce a darmi una mano?

ho provato a mettere la stampante sul router integrato dell'access point (che non ha modem integrato ) ed effettivamente questo mi evita la disconnessione del cisco ma ovviamente se utilizzo coe gateway il cisco posso navigare e non stampare e viceversa se imposto come gateway l'A.P.

non saprei quali altre soluzioni trovare

Hai percaso provato a vedere se esiste un nuovo firmware per aggiornare il print server?
Sicuramente il problema è dovuto al print server e non alla stampante, secondo me una soluzione è quella di mettere l'access point senza funzionalità di router (di sicuro si può disabilitare..) e usarlo come switch.. i client wireless navigherebbero comunque attraverlo il router cisco..

Il firmware che ho travato per il print server risolve solo un problema relativo all'aple talk (che ovviamente ho disabilitato), quindi non so se sia il caso di azzardare un aggiornamento.
Per quanto riguarda l'access point non ho ben chiaro cosa mi proponi:
L'A.P. ha una porta WAN e 4 porte LAN, io ho collegato una porta LAN ad uno switch dove sono collegati i client non wireless , il jetdirect, la xerox e il router cisco lasciando inutilizzata la porta WAN.
Ho anche provato a mettere la xerox su un hub differente (ovviamente collegato con il principale in uplink) ma il problema persiste.
Collegando la xerox sulla porta WAN dell'AP non si verifica la disconnessione ma ovviamente per stampare dovrei impostare l'AP come gateway il che non mi farebbe accedere ad internet.

Ok, adesso ho capito..
Quello che mi viene in mente, ma immagino l'avrai già provato:
-cambiare il cavo della print server;
-vedere se nella configurazione del print server c'è qualcosa relativo al wake-on-lan e disabilitarlo..

Inoltre potresti provare ad aggiornare la versione del software del router, magari è una cosa nota. Hai guardato sul sito CISCO?
Io proverei comunque a fare l'aggiornamento del frmware del print server.

Per fare un'analisi più approfondita, potresti provare a collegare il print server spento su un computer.. Registri tutta l'attività della rete con un qualsiasi packet sniffer dal momento che lo accendi.. così sai che cosa esce dal jetdirect quando lo accendi.
Poi potresti provare a rimandare i pacchetti al router e vedere qual'è che lo fa cadere.
La mia è solo un idea, ma forse nel print server c'è qualcosa che non va nella registrazione del suo indirizzo sulla cache arp, un pacchetto che magari manda in tilt il router..

Il firmware per il cisco è l'ultimo disponibile, ho anche duvuto istallare un aggiornamento di memoria per metterlo.
Di cavi ne ho provati diversi e di opzioni wake on lan sul print server non ce ne traccia.
L'idea del packet sniffer è ottima direi e anche la conclusione a cui sei arrivato. Appena torna a casa proverò e ti faccio sapere.
Per l'aggiornamento del firmware del print server aspetterei l'esito di queste prove.

Ok, sono curioso.
Se il problema devesse essere una cosa simile, potresti configurare il router per "droppare" tutto il traffico del'ip della stampante sulla rete interna..

Ho provato il packet sniffer, ed effettivamente lquando va su l'interfaccia di rete manda una cinquantina di paccetti verso indirizzi internet ed inranet sulle porte + disparate tutti con ethernet type 0x0800 che ho scoperto essere il DOD internet protocol (che non so che sia).
Ora resta da configurare il router in maniera che blocchi tutti il traffico in uscita dalla stampante verso qualunque ip non locale.
Per quanto riguarda le configurazioni cisco sono ancora un dilettante, ho provato a smanettare con l'access-list ma non riesco a bloccare l'ip.

la stampante ha un inririzzo tipo 192.168.0.X con sottorete a 24 bit, se qualcuno mi illumina sull'uso corretto dell'access list gliene sarei grato.

ci sono gia delle access-list configurate e sono le seguenti
access-list 23 permit 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255
access-list 102 permit ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 any


la prima di tipo normale la seconda di tipo exended (anche se non ho capito la differenza fra le due), credo che dovrei modificare la prima ma non so come.

Prova ad inserire queste:
access-list 23 deny 192.168.0.stampante
access-list 102 deny ip 192.168.0.stampante any

Bisogna vedere però se il pacchetto viene scartato prima di far resettare il router...

se fa due acl come gli hai consiglaito blocca tutto il traffico visto che non c'è nessun permit e il deny any any implicito

le acl se non sono named non si modificano ma si possono togliere e rifare da capo
la differenza tra standard ed extended è che nella seconda puoi dare un indirizzo sorgente un protocollo e una porta, nella standard solo la destinazione

gildi spiegati un pò più dettagliatamente se puoi, se alle acl che ci sono aggiungo quelle che mi ha suggerito Rottweiler non funziona?

il risultato sarebbe, credo:
access-list 23 permit 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255
access-list 23 deny 192.168.0.stampante

access-list 102 permit ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 any
access-list 102 deny ip 192.168.0.stampante any

Poi se non dovesse funzionare basta che togli le entry che ti ho detto.. non rischi di fare danni

PS: dovrebbe essere sufficiente l'entry della 23..

Le access-list named sono delle access list a cui dai un nome.
Per esempio:
ip access-list standard filter1

permit 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255

deny 192.168.0.stampante

non sono sicuro, ma se lo dice gigli mi fido.. che le access-list vadano rifatte daccapo.. io pensavo che per aggiungere una entry era sufficiente scriverla (ovvio non per modificarla..) ma non ho qua niente con cui provare.. vado un po' a memoria.

Al massimo ti tocca dovre scrivere 4 linee invece che due

solo alle acl named si possono aggiungere entry, poi queste due non vanno bene perchè il router guarda la prima riga e visto che matcha non esamina la seconda, devono essere invertite, prima il deny e poi il permit

forse ho detto una cavolata, nelle acl normali forse si può aggiungere entry e non toglierle come nelle named, ora non ho un router sotto mano ma dopo provo

le acl named si fanno così
(config)#ip access-list (standard o extended) nome
(config-ext-nacl)#permit o deny protocollo source destination porta
(config-if)#ip access-group nome direzione

l'acl con deny e permit invertiti dovrebbe andare bene

Sono riuscito a configurare correttamente le access list infatti impostando su un host quel determinato ip non accede alla wan, solo che non è servito a nulla poichè il problema con la stampante persiste, a questo punto dovrebbe essere ovvio che c'è qualche pacchetto che appena viene processato dal router gli fa effettuare un reset.

Non so cosa fase, so solo che facendo un scan di quell'ip ci sono diversi pacchetti che tentano di raggiungere l'indirizzo 224.0.0.251 sulla porta 5353 (mi è parso di capire sia una porta usata per un dns multicast).
Son sicuro che il router si resetti su uno degli ultimi pacchetti poichè praticamente avviene quando l'interfaccia di rete della stampante è praticamente avviata

A questo punto non so cosa fare....

Provo queste cose nel fine settimana e ti faccio sapere, fortunatamente non è un ufficio ma casa mia, quindi posso tenere spenti tutti i picci tranne che la stampante e posso ovviamente accedere al router tramite cavetto consolle quindi posso anche rispoarmiarmi di modificare le access list.

Del comando show tech support non mi riconosce la parola chiave support...
