Modem HCF 56k Data/Fax/Voice PCI e ubuntu 7.04

Ciao

Forse dopo molto tempo, sono riuscito a trovare un modem 56k PCI non winmodem.
Ho quindi la possibilità di poterlo far funzionare con il mio Ubuntu 7.04.

Il modem rilevato dal device manager è questo:

Modem HCF 56k Data/Fax/Voice PCI


ho anceh avviato l'utility scanmodem per avere ulteriori informazioni. Riporto parte del file di testo generato
da scan modem:

use of the PCI ID by modem assemblers. First try the hcflinodem package.
If the installation aborts, then use the hsfmodem package. Read Conexant.txt
for details and Modem/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance.

The hsfmodem package serves a great variety of Conexant chipset modems.

download hsfmodem_VersionSpec_k2.6.20_15_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip
with 2.6.20_15_generic equivalent to 2.6.20-15-generic, your kernel version.
Under Linux unpack with:
$ unzip hsfmodem*.zip
Then install with:
$ sudo dpkg -i hsfmodem*.deb
Subsequently, the modem should be found with
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
Edit in your personal information with:
$ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
and try dialing out with:
$ sudo wvdial.

The base of the UDEV device file system is: /dev/.udev

Versions adequately match for the compiler installed: 4.1.2

E' da molto tempo che non uso ubuntu (proprio per il mancato collegamento ad internet) e vorrei rispolverarlo.

Potete aiutarmi a capire (in base alle informazioni sopra riportate) cosa devo fare per collegarmi a internet?

Devo installare qualcosa ancora?

Come avvio la connessione?
Ho inserito i dati del mio provider nell'utility di ubuntu (quale device devo scegliere ../dev/ cosa?) ma niente.

Ci sono riuscito grazie.

Ho installato i driver di cui sopra, configurato wvdial.conf e avviato da terminale wvdial.

Tutto ok!
