Sul sito VR-Zone è stata pubblicata, a questo indirizzo una prova comparativa tra i dissipatori di calore The Core, Alpha PEP66 e Alpha 6035MFC, tutti e tre per processori Socket A e caratterizzati da ottime prestazioni nella dissipazione del calore generato dalla cpu durante il funzionamento. Qui di seguito è riportato un estratto dalle conclusioni, dal quale emerge che i due dissipatori Alpha riescano ad ottenere le migliori prestazioni complessive.
The results speak for themselves. The Core heatsink is a big disappointment. It looked very promising indeed, apart from its high price. This is probably caused because the heatsink does NOT have enough surface in contact with the air. This is based on the fact that the heatsink became really warm in use. I guess it got about 30/35 degrees Celsius when using a 5000 rpm fan, while the Alpha's weren't even warm at all. The rest of the performance is probably caused by the very large chunk of metal. It takes some time to heat such a heavy piece of metal to these temperatures. It took some time longer compared to the other heatsinks to reach its highest temperature compared to the Alpha's.
