Tom's Hardware ha pubblicato un editoriale riguardante i sistemi basati su dual-processing e la loro reale convenienza al momento attuale. Lo trovate a questo indirizzo

Which brings me to my conclusion - multi-processor systems are going to work for you if you believe they do. That depends on how you work, what applications you run, and how good you are at keeping both your CPUs happy. I certainly would consider a dual CPU rig if I could see noticeable benefits when I have Microsoft Office's five applications open at one time. I mean, I don't care about the performance of Word or PowerPoint on their own. I can get pretty good performance out of either on my PII laptop on the road, and I rarely open more than one application on that thing because, the screen is too small. But, if I can see a very clear improvement in the time it takes to switch between tasks and files on my desktop then, I am there. And, I don't care if it's two 850 MHz CPUs, and not one 1.3 GHz one. Wouldn't be great to get the fastest PC to run all of the office applications at the same time? Oh, yeah. Time to call Tom, and see if he's busy next week. I can just see his face when I say we need to soup up an Office system. Oh, yeah.
