Come si virtualizza un DE?

Non ho virtualizzato il DE, ma l'intera distro, dopodiché, dentro kubuntu, si compila KDEsvn

Per la compilazione sto usando la guida trovata su pollycoke.

ieri ho provato ubuntu 9 beta sul mio dell 9400. pero non va (cioè non riesco a cambiare) la risoluzione video (il monitor è 1900x1440) e va a 720.. risultato caratteri enormi e manca meta dello schermo.
monto una nvidia 7800.... dite che è inconfilitto con i driver nvidia? (ho guardato xorg ma è praticamente vuoto).

ho un problema con la configurazione della scheda video (nvidia mx440)

sul pc di casa ho una connessione ad internet via modem, ergo ho scaricato e installato
Ubuntu Plus per avere un po' tutto quello che serve...ci sono i driver Nvidia 177, ma non riesco
ad abilitare l'accelerazione grafica.

che devo fare?
il mio xorg.conf in auesto momento è copiato da il file generato via mandriva eccetto per la sezione video
(che non funge ovviamente)

Ho installato Ubuntu 9.04 su un pc desktop dotato di scheda grafica integrata Intel GMA X4500HD. Ho notato che purtroppo i video presentano numerosi problemi di tearing e credo che questo sara` uno dei maggiori ostacoli che mi impediranno di passare stabilmente a Linux, dato che praticamente per me il pc ha sostituito completamente la TV. Qualcun altro ha avuto lo stesso tipo di problema e l'ha risolto?

E' possibile installare iTunes 8 su Ubuntu e poi gestirci l'ipod touch o l'iphone? La versione 7 girava sotto Wine però collegando l'ipod touch non succedeva niente. Sapete se le cose sono cambiate? C'è speranza che con la 9.04 sia possibile gestire anche l'ipod touch?

ho 2 problemi con Ubuntu.....
1) Ho ubuntu 8.10 installato su un sony vaio vgn-sz1m/b, che ha un lettore di memeory stick integrato... ebbene, quest'ultimo non funziona. Non da nessun segno di vita. Nella lista degli usb ho:

Guarda, io non possiedo ipod e non so neanche risponderti, ma hai provato a gestirlo con amarok?

ragazzi, mi è saltata la corrente proprio mentre stavo installando un .deb

Ora non riesco più ad installare o cancellare niente perchè apt-get mi dice che c'è un errore con quel paccehtto. Ho provato a toglierlo e a reinstalalrlo, ma ho sempre errore...

In particolare mi dice:

Amarok e tutti gli altri programmi per gli ipod disponibili per Linux solitamente non funzionano con iphone e ipod touch. Spetterebbe a Apple far uscire una versione dedicata di iTunes, putroppo però nada... Io in pratica ho un dual boot con Xp ma uso Xp solo per iTunes...

Salvea tutti, ho installato awn da synaptic ma quando lo lancio dalle applicazioni non sucede quasi nienti(appare qualcosa in alto a dx per un secondo ma non riesco nemmeno a capire che cosa è). Il manager si apre ma poi la barra non appare. Mi rendo conto che è un po difficile come domanda ma cosa posso fare per risolvere questo problema.

Per quella scheda del pleistocene devi usare i driver legacy, ossia quelli della serie 97XX (mi pare).
Vedi se li hai a disposizione, e poi ricrea l'xorg.conf, quello postato non penso proprio possa andare.
A parte che, con l'installazione dei drivers immagino si produca un nuovo xorg.conf, altrimenti usa xorgconfig o dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, quindi edita l'xorg e infilaci il driver nvidia nella sezione apposita.

Per la storia del lettore di memory stick non so aiutarti: hai provato a googlare un pò? Oppure a cercare nei forums di ubuntu.
Per il freeze del sistema: usi una connesione wifi? Se si, che scheda usi, ossia qual'è il chipset della scheda?

Ciao ragazzi ho un problema a visualizzare tramite firefox i filmati in streaming formato .mov (quicktime).
Ho su tutti i codec necessari,infatti i .mov sull' hd li vedo tranquillo,e sto usando mozilla-mplayer-plugins.

volevo aggiornarlo con i repo di awn e si è aggiunto un errore, oltre a 2 che erano già presenti i precedenza sulle key.
