mai accaduta una cosa del genere, cioé la connessione che va giù su nessun router

il router si riavvia, diventa tutto lentissimo, qualsiasi cosa, ma connessione giù mai vista

Rettifico ho riprovato ed é come dici tu, ogni volta che aggiungo un torrent non funziona praticamente piu nulla anche per diverso tempo, l'unico modo che ho per far andare la rete é disattivare transmission da uamod ma a volte devo addirittura riavviare il router senza usb

allora una possibile causa, molto comune, è che il file system sulla usb sia corrotto o semplicemente con errori e via dicendo e basta che la riformatti il supporto e riprovi

Ok, generalmente non uso mai il router in maniera pesante e scarico quasi esclusivamente di notte, proveró anche a cambiare chiavetta.
Posso usare solo FAT32 o anche NTFS?

per renderlo permanente, nei 2200 non c'è ancora la cosa;
devi aprire, dopo come al solito aver dato un mrootrw,
/usr/etc/amod/bin/hotusb
dopo la linea
if cat /proc/mounts | grep -q "/dev/sd*"; then

aggiungi
killallall -q -SIGHUP dnsmasq

o nel caso del V4
killall -q -SIGHUP adnsmasq

e dovrebbe funzionare anche dopo un reboot

nel 2200v4 ho trovato il file /usr/etc/amod/hotusb, ma nel v3 non sono stato capace di trovarlo.
è in qualche altra directory?

sul 2200V3 usa /etc/amod/conf/usb.usr

ntfs consuma qualche risorsa di più; ma non cambia niente, nella mia esperienza, a livello di quando si sfascia la usb; non cambia niente pure in ext3

il fs sulla usb si sfascia perché viene spento e riacceso il router senza smontare il fs, a lungo andare si riempie di problemi;

quando aggiungi un torrente, diciamo che è il cd numero 1 di debian, vengono riservati subito 700 mega per metterci i dati e questo, se il fs è sfasciato, provoca problemi a non finire

transmission sui router è per sfizio; se uno "ha bisogno" di scaricare tante cose a computer spento, un serverino da 4 soldi, una schedina mini itx atom o celeron di anni fa si trova a 2 soldi, consuma poco e fa questo lavoro in maniera eccellentissima

this is not an answer to your question, because I have no answer at the moment, but, please, try to use dnsmasq for everything; this is the peace of its configuration for wifi guest:

dhcp-range=ath1,192.168.2.100,192.168.2.120,255.255.255.0,24h

However, I still cannot log-on to the router interface and dhcp stops working after a few hours on 12.0.3, no matter what configuration used (dnsmasq).

Reverted back to 12.0.0, this one is more stable on my setup.

Alfonsor a casa mia con ipv6 ho velocità di download comparabile, ping quasi uguale quindi ho deciso di utilizzarlo quotidianamente.

Ho un solo problema, quando riavvio il router non viene fornito subito un indirizzo ipv6 agli host con stack compatibile, devo stoppare e riavviare la wan a mano perché dnsmasq assegni un ipv6 alle macchine in rete.

Grazie, il problema rimane, però per pppoe ipv6 si connette, è già qualcosa.
Domani provo in pppoa ipv4 e in pppoe ipv4

No, what I mean is that after a couple hours:
- no access to the router interface from the host IP, either via ethernet or wireless.
- no new DHCP clients are accepted by the router, either via wireless or ethernet interface; only clients who have a valid and not-yet-expired IP (lease) can access the internet.
- wireless clients can associate with the router but cannot get an IP from it (both normal and guest wireless networks), unless they have a valid IP assigned to them earlier that has not expired yet.

After a day or more of router uptime, even ethernet clients with static IPs (i.e not assigned via the router DHCP server) cannot get internet access and only a router reboot via the hardware switch deblocks everything.

The guest wireless clients never have access to either the router interface or the local ethernet interface, this works as expected. The problem is in the local network interface, both wired and wireless (and in the DHCP server as well - tried both, the netgear and the other you suggested).

Seems like the router runs out of memory somehow and it is unable to resume proper operation.

i think that is the well known wscmd bug

From version i-do-not-remember-something-it-was-years-ago I removed wsccmd. That is the story

wsccmd is a monster; Intel even stopped its development, it is far gone away from today's routers, but we have it here

sooner or later it takes all cpu and you have to kill it

if you kill it, it is not easy to authenticate to the wifi; for example, in windows you cannot authenticate if you don't create a wireless profile, before trying to connect to that wifi

but, dgn3500 wifi is broken at its very bases; so killing wsccmd was the best solution for me

the problem is that people are still buying the 3500 and they use it as an access point; not be able to connect a phone or a computer to its wifi is bad; so I stopped to kill wsccmd, but these are the results; I left an option in wifi advanced called Kill wsccmd

now: I love the 3500 because it is "iptables-only" its firewall is set up using only linux kernel iptables modules, no strange closed sourced Sercom or Netgear or whatever modules; my perfect router is done that way; but it is an old, wifi tragedy, not supported, with an old kernel router; I never use its access point

So, what to do? I don't know.

Newer open source wifi modules are impossible to back port to linux 2.6.20.

If you really need to use the 3500 as an access point I suggest you to try that option. If it doesn't work for you, the last solution is to install Openwrt, that has a newer kernel with open source atheros wifi drivers.

Salve ragazzi, possiedo da anni un 3500 e non mi ha mai dato noie fino al trasferimento in una nuova casa avvenuto qualche giorno fa. Praticamente il segnale WiFi non mi arriva a coprire una porzione di casa (terrazzo) per una manciata di metri. Praticamente dentro alla finestra è ok mentre se esco (quindi un metro piu in fuori) non ho piu segnale. Secondo voi con questo AMOD riuscirei a risolvere il problema o non serve neanche provare?? Grazie per l'eventuale dritta
