Due problemi post aggiornamento kernel

Ciao a tutti!!

Ho compilato il nuovo kernel 2.6.16 sulla mia SuSe 10.0. Adesso però ci sono due problemi:

- Il primo è che all'avvio mi appaiono vari messaggio che dicono:
FATAL: module iptables not found
Can't initialize iptables table filter: iptables who? (do you need insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

Forse è perché non ho incluso nel nuovo kernel qualche cosa tipo i NetFilter? (Eppure la sezione Networking non l'ho toccata)

- Il secondo è che quando X mi dice "L'ultima fase consiste nel salvare la nuova configurazione ecc. ecc." e ci sono i tasti Prova Salva e Annulla, quando clicco su Prova sembra che parte ma poi mi ritorna alla schermata precedente con un messaggio di errore che dice di andare a controllare il file /var/log/Xorg.99.log. Io sono andato a controllarlo e in effetti lui cerca di caricare il modulo dei driver video "nv" (che non esiste perché ho installato i driver per la GeForce presi dal sito ufficiale e quindi dovrebbe essere "nvidia"). Qui si vede che non è stato aggiornato qualche file, ma andando a vedere Xorg.conf risulta con "nvidia". Cosa può essere?

Ciao, rigardo al kernel non saprei dirti, probabilmente hai tralasciato qualche modulo, ma in quel caso avresti dovuto avere un errore in fase di compilazione o installazione dei moduli.
Riguardo i driver devi semplicemente disinstallarli e poi reinstallarli in quanto la precedente installazione ha creato il modulo per il vecchio kernel.

I driver NVIDIA sono .sh come faccio a toglierli? E poi cmq li avevo installati già quando avevo messo il kernel (infatti in KDE ci va).

nvidia-installer --uninstall
Riavvia e poi li installi.

Ho provato a disinstallarli ma il problema rimane. A questo punto vi posto il file Xorg.99.log

Per quanto riguarda iptables ho ricompilato il kernel con i moduli netfilter ma anche qui il problema rimane.

Ma che devo fare???

Devi modificare il file xorg.conf altrimenti il sistema cerca di caricare ancora il vecchio modulo nv.
Edita il file /etc/X11/xorg.conf come segue :

Nella sezione "module"

commenta [ o si cancella] le righe relative a

Load "dri"

Load "GLcore"

aggiungi (o decommenta se gia presente)

Load "glx"


In Device section sostituisci

* Driver "nv" CON Driver "nvidia"

salva ed esci, riavvia X e se ti compare il logo nvidia è tutto OK.

Eccomi!!

Forse non mi sono spiegato bene. La scheda video è riconosciuta il logo appare e tutto solamente che se voglio ad esempio cambiare la risoluzione e quindi poi clicco su test, appare quel messaggio che ti ho descritto prima.

Ok, capito ma nel tuo xorg.conf ci sono le modifiche che ti ho descritto?
