qualche aiutino, kernel e divx...

ciao, sono approdato dopo varie distribuzioni alla suse 9.3.

tutto bene, mi riconosce la scheda wifi ma ho un paio di problemi.

il primo credo sia il più stupido:
non riesco a vedere i divx, che devo fare? che codec devo scaricare? da dove? c'è una procedura particolare?

il secondo problema è unpo' più particolare, ho letto che devo ricompilare il kernel per far funzionare l'acpi ma non ho assolutamente idea di cosa devo fare...

qualcuno sa aiutarmi?

I codec mpeg4 non possono essere forniti dalle distribuzioni in quanto sono strangolati dai brevetti USA.
Io quando installo una distro, installo a parte ffmpeg, mplayer e xine direttamente dai sorgenti. E' ciò che ti serve per leggere di tutto.

Chi è che va ancora in giro a sparare queste fesserie?
E' probabile che l'acpi del tuo computer sia attivo e funzionante. Se alleghi l'output del comando dmesg posso essere più preciso.

se usi lilo apri /etc/lilo.conf e dalla voce append togli acpi=off
se usi grub invece dovrebbe essere /boot/grub/menu.lst. stessa cosa. cerchi acpi=off e lo detoni.
se ti da problemi in avvio allora al bootloader scrivi acpi=off e parti risistemi tutto come prima.
