Il miglior linux per un pc un po' anticuato...help!!!!
Salve,
stò da poco mettendo a posto un pc molto vecchio mi ritrovo con una cpu da 333mhz e 2 hard-disk da 20 e 8Gb(uno schifo)mi interessava sapere quale distribuzione Linux ci andrebbe meglio. Grazie anticipatamente!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

229 di RAM ha un dvd ROM e lo vorrei utilizzare per navigare usare open office vorrei sapere, inoltre, se è meglio linux o slax. Grz |

slax è una distro linux... in ogni caso su un pc così vetusto installerei puppy linux o damn small linux.

Io su un 400 Mhz ho messo su una debian con fluxbox.
Solo abiword e pacchetti per bambini. Gira benino però alcune applicazioni vanno a scatti. Credo che l'ideale sarebbe una Puppy scatenata. Ancora non l'ho provata ma a quanto pare promette bene. Cmq. se vuoi ti posto la lista di tutti i pacchetti installati. Ciao.

E' un bel ferraccio, ma Vectorlinux 6.0 potrebbe girarci con comodo. Anche TinyME, Absolute Linux, Puppy 4.2, SLiTaz e AUSTRUMI.

runtime Credo che potrebbe essere meglio ottimizzato, nel senso che si potrebbero scegliere pacchetti + leggeri e che cmq. non siano old. Il pc gira discretamente. Ache se quando si fa partire pingus bisogna rinunciare all'audio (esce a scatti!!). I vari Tuxpaint e gcompris girano un pelino rallentati rispetto all'azione del mouse ma sempre utilizzabili. Considerazioni finali. Personalmente penso che sui forum si parla per sentito dire. Bisogna sempre e comunque provarle stè distribuzioni  prima di dire che ci vuole per forza DSL, Tiny e via discorrendo.Debian sarà + pesantuccia ma secondo me è la + stabile di tutte le distro esistenti. A breve proverò Puppy linux e vi farò sapere. Ciao a tutti.

Ma che ne dici di ELIVE GEM?Ci vogliono esattamente un processore 100MHz e 64MB di RAM come requisiti minimi mentre come requisiti raccomandati ci vogliono un processore da 300MHz e 128MB di RAM vedi un pò......l'installazione è veramente facile e come si vede dal video l'aspetto non è niente male!

quando vedo queste discussioni nelle quali se il procio è meno di un i7 tutti dite dsl, la domanda è: Possibile che io sia l'unico che usa bene debian con gnomw su un mendocino 400 con 128 mega di ram?

con 128 MB di RAM ci gira una knoppix di 2-3 anni fa ... con tutti i suoi programmi ...
Comunque, secondo me, ti sei sbagliato nel vedere la quantità di RAM ! |
