Nomadix
Mi trovo in un complesso di appartamenti in Irlanda e tutta la rete interna è gestita tramite il sistema Nomadix.
La rete è cablata; ogni inquilino ha una sua porta ethernet e per ciascuno c'è banda in "abbondanza", sempre che per voi 7MB in DL siano "abbondanza". Skype funziona a meraviglia anche in videochiamata: ping, jitter e % pacchetti persi danno valori più che buoni. Torrent lavora decentemente ed il trasferimento ftp non mi fa lamentare ma ho enormi problemi col browsing! Generalmente uso una beta di Firefox (3.1.b2) ma a scanso di equivoci ho provato anche la versione classica di Firefox, Safari e Opera... Ho un sistema Apple con Leopard dentro ma per non lasciare nulla al caso ho provato anche su Ubuntu e WinXP che emulo tramite VMWare... Quello che accade è lo stesso con tutte le combinazioni di SO e browser: digito l'indirizzo e la paginia viene caricata 1 volta su 10 se si tratta di siti irlandesi mentre per gli altri la percentuale di successo è ancora più bassa. Anche accedere alla pagina di Google.com è un veramente difficile. Potete immaginare quanto sia snervante e spesso impossibile accedere a siti con sessioni autenticate come quello di una banca. Il più delle volte le pagine vengono caricate parzialmente. Il layout è disordinato e la grafica è assente. Penso che il problema sia dovuto al fatto che gli indirizzi non vengono risolti correttamente dal server DNS che mi viene passato in automatico il router. La prima, ed anche la più ovvia soluzione, è stata quella di cambiare il server DNS. Ho preso due server OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220 dovrebbero essere quelli più vicini (mi trovo a Cork, sud dell'Irlanda) Il problema non è cambiato! Ho provato ad usate TOR ma, non so se per mia incompetenza, non è cambiato nulla. Dovete considerare che il router che fa da gateway alla rete al tutto il complesso residenziale deve gestire meno di 100 terminali ma son certo che molti di loro fanno uso, come me, di eMule, torrent od altri simili che creano un numero di sessioni molto alto quindi a questo punto penso che il problema sia dovuto ad un numero di richieste troppo elevato per il gateway! L'unica soluzione, alquanto scomoda, che ho trovato consiste nell'usare un programmino per desktop remoto, collegarmi al mio pc di casa e navigare tramite il browser del pc di casa... potete immaginare quanto sia frustrante... Ho provato anche ad usare un web proxy (www.hidemedaddy.com) e sembra che qualcosa migliori ma non molto. Forse mi serve un proxy migliore? Potete suggerirmi qualche soluzione? Non so più dove sbattere la testa... Grazie |

provando a pingare un sito con quei dns (che sono ben noti), risolvi l'ip o no?
nel senso... è utile provare a capire se effettivamente possono essere i dns.

non è la soluzione più comoda dato che l'amministrazione della rete è data in gestione ad una ditta esterna ed io mi posso interfacciare solo con la reception del mio complesso residenziale che come puoi immaginare poco ne capisce di DNS, IP e networking...
altre idee? |

ok vi ringrazio per i suggerimenti...
purtroppo per la reception si prevedono tempi duri... non hanno idea di quanto io possa diventare pedante nella cortese pretesa di avere un servizio internet decente... prima o poi riusciro' a parlare con quell'astratta entita' denominata amministratore di rete |
