[MDK] come visualizzare il sans sottile ed elegante come in ubuntu?

Guardate: se apro nautilus da consolle da root, vedo il carattere sans più sottile ed elegante, come in ubuntu. Se mi loggo come root, ciò non accade. Né è possibile ottenerlo - come user - con le varie opzioni sui fonts nel gnome control center...
Il carattere è sempre sans 11, ma si vede diversamente...
Chi mi aiuta a dipanare il mistero?

a occhio la differenza sembra dovuta all'hinting... sicuro che non cambia niente se lo modifichi?

output di xrdb -query?
contenuto di /etc/fonts/fonts.conf (in particolare le sezioni <alias> in cui si definiscono le famiglie di caratteri corrispondenti a sans, sans serif e monospace)?


ripensandoci, hai provato a mettere "Bitstream Vera Sans" al posto di "Sans"?

Prova anche a vedere che nella home di root e nella tua non ci sia un ifle che si chiama ".fonts.conf", dovrebbe essere quello che regola l'hinting.
