[NEWS] Microsoft Excel Unspecified Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Security Focus riporta un bollettino di sicurezza (Bugtraq ID 33870) in cui si spiega che è stata trovata una non meglio specificata vulnerabilità in Microsoft Excel che esporrebbe, il computer di un utente ignaro, ad attacchi di tipo remote code-execution. Un Attacker potrebbe sfruttare questa falla attraverso l'apertura, da parte di un utente ignaro, di un file Excel creato ad hoc da malintenzionati. Lo sfruttamento con successo della falla con questa tecnica potrebbe permettere ad un attacker l'esecuzione di codice arbitrario malevolo con privilegi in cui in quel momento si è avviati il programma con il bug. Il fallimento porterebbe ad una condizione di negazione del servizio (DoS) al legittimo user. La vulnerabilità è stata confermata in Microsoft Excel 2007 e non si esclude che anche altre versioni siano affette dal medesimo bug.
