SAMSUNG: ram più veloci grazie alla tecnologia TSV

Samsung Electronics ha sviluppato un nuovo package [G] di memorie all-DRAM usando la tecnologia denominata TSV “Through Silicon Via” che permette di realizzare chip più piccoli, veloci e dal basso consumo energetico.



Il WSP (wafer level processed stacked package) consiste in quatto chips DRAM DDR2 [G] 512 megabit, per un totale di 2 gigabit di memorie ad alta densità, che Samsung userà per le future DRAM con taglio fino a 4GB e che grazie alla tecnologia WSP non solo avranno un package più piccolo, ma funzioneranno a frequenze più alte delle attuali ram pur avendo specifiche di consumi più bassi.
