Al termine del gioco la Valve invierà un frame finale con il quale prenderà il controllo totale delle vostre azioni, costringendovi a recarvi in banca e versare tutti i vostri averi sul conto corrente di Gabe!

Interaction with the game while playing or watching may at times cause some people to experience nausea, dizziness, motion sickness or eyestrain. If you or any of your family experience these symptoms, please discontinue use and play again at a later time.

Enabling VSYNC on your graphics card / monitor settings should help a bit as well as raising your monitor's refresh rate in the advanced settings for your graphics card. Most monitors can handle 75 Hz or 85 Hz which is a lot more comfortable then 60Hz which is a common default.

Incandescent lighting is usually much better then florescent lighting when you play, the light is warmer and doesn't flicker. Point the light at the roof or a wall not directly on the computer or the screen.

It's also better to play in a moderately lit room then a totally dark room. The main reason for this is your eyes have to adjust to the dark around you then adjust again to the screen which can be very bright. If this happens over and over then you are not going to be very comfortable after a while. Having a little diffuse light in the room helps to keep things in perspective.

Especially when you are learning a new game with new controls, you will be looking at the screen and then at the keyboard and then back at the screen. This changes your focus a lot and if the room is dark then you have to strain to see the keys.

One important thing is to look at is what FPS you are getting when you play the game. You can go to the game console (~ typically) and enter "net_graph 1" and it will display a graph with your frames per second.

Be sure to turn off the graph (net_graph 0) or it will lower your FPS and can be distracting.

Anything below 20 means you are going to have a lot of flicker which can make things less comfortable. If you are getting anything below 30fps then you need to go to a lower screen resolution or lower the anti-alias (AA) setting or lower some of the detail settings, this is in the advanced video options at the splash screen.

Another thing you can do is to slightly lower your mouse sensitivity so you don't look around quite so fast.

Especially when you are in the airboat or on the dune buggy, exaggerated movements and crashing into things will only make the world go topsyturvy and certainly won't help the nausea problem.

volevo dirvi che..

la nausea ( e pure bella forte) l' ho durante il livello dell'overcraft quando si devono aprire le varie dighe) ..son stato male per circa un ora e mezza , poi ho ripreso mi son fatto tutta una tirata fino al livello della spiaggia con i formicaleone senza nessun sintomo..

non so spiegarmi la cosa, uso ancora lo stesso fov

Gioco dai tempi di doom...e vi assicuro di ore davanti al pc ne passo, ma sto ca... di hl2 fa venire la nausea pure a me...non capisco

Penso che io sto peggio di tutti...

Io ho iniziato a giocarci adesso, e vi giuro che dopo 15 minuti già avevo la nausea, e mi danno pure fastidio gli occhi...

Poi sto pure giocando a 1024x768 a 60 Hz con un LCD da 15,1'' perchè NVIDIA non è capace di fare un ca**o di driver che faccia impostare il refresh dall'utente...

No, il driver deve fare da solo, ma se ca**o sbaglia e mi da il refresh massimo a 60 Hz mentre quello vero del mio monitor è 75 Hz io che dovrei fare?

Quelli della Valve sono scemi, ma pure NVIDIA...

Qualcuno sà come forzare il refresh?
E magari il modo esatto per aumentare a 90 il FOV del gioco? Se lo metteste nella prima pagina del Thread sarebe meglio...e sarebbe meglio se metteste questo Thread in evidenza per un po', perchè questa non è una cosa su cui scherzare...
