Il Miracolo della moltiplicazione della RAM !!!!!

Un buongiorno a tutti

come dicevo, oggi i miei Router 2651xm sono in vena di miracoli !!!!!

quando li ho comprati avevano installata questa versione di IOS :

c2600-i-mz.123-22a.bin

dando il comando show version

il risultato era il seguente :

adesso li ho ripuliti ed aggiornati installando la seguente versione di IOS :

e' possibile che la versione precedente dell'IOS indirizzava solo 128 Mb di ram anche se nei Router ne sono installati 256 Mb ? :?: :?: :?:

E' il nuovo firmware che fa lavorare il processore con più memoria, la memoria disponibile Read/Write è sempre 32 MB

non vorrei dire una cavolata ma quelle che hai evidenziato tu dovrebbero essere la

NVRAM e la FLASH che vengono usate rispettivamente per la memorizzazione della startup-config e la memorizzazione dell IOS.

non entro nei particolari per quanto riguarda la memorizzazione dei file ma normalmente si usano per questo.

infatti uno dei mie 4 2651xm ha fatto la stesso giochetto per quanto riguarda la ram ma con tutti e due gli IOS ha sempre indicato 48 Mb di flash.

Alla fine mi sono deciso, li ho smontati tutti e gli ho dato una super pulita .... ed ecco svelato il mistero, come pensavo la versione precedente indirizzava solo 128 Mb di ram.

Che bello scoprire di avere i Router espansi al massimo ed averli pagati tutti e 4 200 euro
