Costruzione

front.jpg (8805 byte)Il design del masterizzatore HP CD-Writer Plus 9210i replica quello dei precedenti masterizzatori HP, in modo particolare della serie 8000; da sinistra verso destra troviamo il jack per le cuffie con potenziometro volume, due led luminosi che indicano lo status back.jpg (8858 byte)di funzionamento del masterizzatore (lettura oppure scrittura-riscrittura); il foro che permette di forzare l'estrazione del cassettino qualora un supporto rimanda incastrato all'interno e l'immancabile tasto eject. Nella parte posteriore dell'unità troviamo tutte le connessioni, sia elettriche che dati ed audio (quest'ultima di due tipi, sia analogica che digitale); alcuni jumper permettono di configurare l'inità nella catena SCSI.
Il 9210i è un masterizzatore con meccanica di tipo riscrivibile, con velocità massima di 8x in scrittura e di 4x in riscrittura, pertanto quelle che sono al momento le massime velocità disponibili per masterizzatori equivalenti.

In dotazione è fornito un manuale dlel'utente molto chiaro, in assoluto il più dettagliato che abbia mai trovato con un masterizzatore; tutte le caratteristiche tecniche dell'unità sono illustrate in dettaglio, compresa una guida con immagini alla corretta installazione hardware all'interno del case.
La dotazione software è molto completa in quanto include software di natura differente quali HP Fast Format, HP Disaster Recovery, Adaptec Direct CD and Easy CD Creator, Neato CD Labeler, FilingCentral, Broderbund Multimedia Organizer Deluxe e Sonic Foundry ACID. Questo software ha impieghi differenti, non necessariamente correlati alla masterizzazione, pertanto deve essere considerato come valore aggiunto alla dotazione (anche se spesso quello che si cerca non è il software aggiuntivo quanto le prestazioni meccaniche dell'hardware).

IBM compatible Pentium (200 MHz), Microsoft Windows 95B, Windows 98, Windows NT Workstation (SP4), 32 MB RAM, 35-226 MB free hard disk space to install software. SCSI-2 or higher cable and controller (not included in the box). Sound card required for certain applications.

Note: Windows NT 4.0 Server and all versions of Windows CE not supported.
