Soul Reaver...non parte!!!
Ciao ragazzi,
ho un problema...sto provando a installare Soul Reaver 1 sul mio nuovo notebook ma non vuole saperne di partire...mi si pianta con lo schermo nero subito dopo la schermata del setup video. Il CD è una copia di backup ma sono ragionevolmente certa che funzioni, ci avevo giocato anni fa...possibile che il sistema sia "troppo nuovo" e non riesca a far girare giochi di 5 anni fa? Sul ntebook ho una GeForce 6800go e Windows XP...ci sarà qualche incompatibilità?  Insomma, c'è qualcosa che non so e che occorre fare per giocare questi vecchi titoli? Mi spiacerebbe non poterlo fare, ce ne sono tanti che non ho finito...  Grazie a chi vorrà darmi una mano...

Dimenticavo...ho provato anche con una patch, ma non cambia nulla, anzi, non parte nemmeno il setup con la richiesta di scegliere la risoluzione...

forse c'è un'incompatibilità col sistema operativo....su win xp forse non funziona

Fai tasto destro -> proprietà sul file eseguibile o sull'installer. Ci dovrebbe essere da qualche parte un'opzione per cercare di rendere compatibile il sw un po' vecchio con winxp. Cerca qualcosa come "compatibilità" e prova a selezionare ad esempio windows98.

Prova a vedere su NT Compatible se c'è qualche incompatibilità segnalata tra XP e SR1.
Prova anche a installare la patch più recente.

Allora...ho provato a leggere su NT Compatible e in effetti esiste una incompatibilità tra SR1 e XP (e 2000, anche).
Ho tentato di mettere in pratica un paio di "ricette" suggerite lì, ma l'unica cosa che funziona è la patch ufficiale che upgrada il gioco alla versione 1.2.Fatto questo, però, SR1 continua a non partire. Amen, farò una partizione con su Win98...

Mi sa che l'unica soluzione sia partizionare...anche perché quello non è l'unico gioco che abbia problemi con XP...pure SR2 e tutta una serie di Tomb Raider non sono compatibili...mica si può cercare un procedimento ad hoc per ognuno...
