Advanced Settings Utility for MouseWare 9.76???

Sono andato sul sito della logitech, per vedere se cerano dei nuovi drivers per l'mx700... e mi sono imbattuto in questa Utility

Qualcuno l'ha provata? dal readme sembra molto interessante:

The MouseWare Advanced Settings utility is designed to work with MouseWare 9.76 or above. You can download the utility here. Please verify you are using MouseWare 9.76 before downloading and using this utility. You can verify what version of MouseWare you are using by click the Devices tab of Mouse Properties and viewing the About MouseWare information.

This utility is supported in the following operating systems:
Windows XP
Windows 2000
Windows ME
Windows 98SE
Windows 98


You can place this file anywhere on the system's hard drive, but we recommend that you download it to the following location:

C:\Program Files\Logitech\MouseWare\System

General Information
This utility allows you to easily adjust mouse behavior in some applications such as games or CAD software. Please note that this program only makes changes to the registry; it does NOT run in the background and is not a Terminate Stay Resident (TSR) program. Please also note that this utility currently does not add new game detection entries into the Windows registry as discussed in Customer Support Document 4619, "Using Logitech Pointing Devices in Games."

To launch this utility, find where you downloaded it to and simply double click on it. Check the boxes for the behavior you want, and then click the "Apply" button. When you click the "Apply" button, you will notice that the mouse icon in the Systray will disappear for a moment and then return. This is because the utility shuts down EM_EXEC.EXE, changes the Windows registry, and then restarts EM_EXEC.EXE. After this happens, launch your application and check to see if you have the desired behavior. Click OK to close the utility.

Here is some additional information on what the different selections do.

General Settings
Enable game detection: If checked, then MouseWare detects games using OpenGL, Direct-Input, and game file names listed under the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\GamingCompatibility
The default setting is ON.

Restore default settings: Clicking this button resets all settings back to default.

Game/CAD Mode Settings
Keep mouse acceleration: If checked, MouseWare will apply the acceleration settings selected in the Mouse Properties. Most gamers do NOT want acceleration in games, so this box should not be checked. The default setting is OFF.
Keep mouse speed: If checked, MouseWare will apply the mouse speed setting selected in the Mouse Properties. Most gamers do NOT want the mouse speed settings used under Windows to be used in games and would like a 1:1 speed, so this box should NOT be checked. The default setting is OFF.

Keep trackball orientation: If checked, MouseWare will apply the orientation setting selected in the Mouse Properties. Gamers or CAD users generally want to maintain their orientation settings, so this box should be checked. The default setting is ON.

Keep right/left hand button reassignments: If checked, MouseWare will maintain the current right/left button swaps. If you use your mouse on the left side of the desk and wish to maintain this in games or CAD applications, this box should be checked. The default setting is ON.

Keep keypress button assignments: If checked, MouseWare will maintain buttons on the mouse set to keyboard key assignments. If you have a pointing device with buttons 6, 7, and 8, set to keyboard keys and you want to use them in your game or CAD application, then this box should be checked. The default setting is ON.

Keep other button assignments (Double-Click, AutoScroll, etc…): If checked, MouseWare will maintain all button assignments selected in the Mouse Properties box. Since many of these assignments may not be recognized in games, we recommend that you do not check this box. The default setting is OFF.

Tracking Optimization
Speed: If you move your pointing device in very quick movements and you prefer more speed and less precision, then this radio bullet should be selected. This selection also fixes negative acceleration. The default setting is OFF.

Precision: If you move your pointing device slower and you prefer more precise cursor movement and less speed, then select this radio bullet. The default setting is ON.

The information in this document provides guidelines that may or may not match your specific needs. You may wish to experiment with different settings to see what works best for you in the game or CAD application you are using.

ti posso dire una cosa? Driver speciali o non, e sempre un mouse quindi, se vuoi provale ma alla fine credo che influiranno poco!

Sarà come dici tu, ma dopo aver usato l'utility, finalmente mi funziona il tasto centrale con Splinter cell
