a me funziona...
...tra xp e win me ci sono generalmente problemi con il file system! win me che io sappia non supporta il fs ntfs. Non so dirti se il problema della condivisione della stampante sia dovuto a quello...io la butto li, magari è una c....a

Non penso sia un problema di nome utente perchè x la stampante usi le stesse che usi per accedere alle risorse (hd, partizioni o cartelle) condivise. Prova così: vai su impostazioni>stampanti, clicchi destro sulla stampante che vuoi condividere, vai in proprietà, poi in condivisione e selezione la voce condividi con nome e dai un mome alla stampante. Io uso w2K ma con xp deve essere = o simile.
