ebbene.... con un singolo banco arriva benissimo a 300 con due moduli ,nel fare il memtest, alla fine del test 5 dà un bordello di errori e si inkioda. Questo anche a 285 di bus provando a cambiare ogni posizione degli slot. Al max,rock solid,tocca i 275 !!!!

Pazzesco, la dfi è limitata con due moduli. Nessuno sà nulla a riguardo???
Magari devo settare qualcosa nel bios???

provo a informarmi in qualke forum straniero. Cmq se a 300 con due moduli vi sembra ke vada bene, provate a fare il memtest e ne vedrete delle belle.

Cmq ho su il primo bios di fine agosto.

Well.. I had to RMA my geil golden dragon memory (wuld never run properly at stock and failed memtest86 at stock) and got in some new toys.

What I grabbed was a new PSU, PC power & cooling 510 deluxe, and some Patriot 2-2-2-5 samsung TCCD memory. The memory I picked up was a Gig pack of 2x512.

Well, looking to see what I could get out of an overclock with the memory I was pleasantly surprised with both sticks individually. Here's the stats for each stick using the 10/15 + 4.52 sata bios:

Stick 1 in slot 1:
HTT = 300
1:1 ratio
CPC = 2t
tcl = 2.5
trcd = 4
trp = 3
tras = 10
trc = 10
trfc = 12
trrd = 00
twr = 2
twtr = 2 (only 2 or auto work 1 fails no matter what for me)
trtw = 2
tref = 3120
twcl = auto
skew = auto
async =8.0
preamble = 4.0
idle = auto
dynamic = enabled
queue bypass = 4x
bypass max = 2x
32 byte = enabled

Chipset voltage = 1.9 (with active cooling)
AGP voltage = 1.8
DRAM voltage = 3.0v (2.9v gives me 2 errors everytime test 5 gets to 99%)


Those are the tightest timings and best performance I can get without getting an error in memtest86+. I was actually quite impressed with this and could boot into windows and was prime stable as well so long as I didn't use a mutiplier higher then 6.0. If I tried anything higher then 6.0 I couldn't even boot into windows no matter WHAT juice I give the CPU. At 300x6.0 =1.8GHz for the cpu I can actually boot and be prime stable at 1.4 volts. If I use a divider on the memory and 300 HTT I can get to use the 8.0 multipler and be prime stable at 2.4GHzwith 1.7 volts.


The second stick is very similar as well. Here's the best I can get from it.

Since the max on the second stick seems to be 290 to give me no errors in memtest86+ then I figure that would be my breaking point for both sticks.

Now, it was time to use both sticks at once and see what my max is. Here's where everything goes goofy and straight to hell.

First, let me preface this with the fact that NEITHER stick will work by itself in any ram slot BUT the first slot closest to the processor. If I try slot 2 or 3 then nothing will post no matter WHAT timings I use.

Well, I stuck both sticks in and was kind of expecting a max HTT of around 280 based off of what I've gather from other people on many boards and websites. That is not the case. My max HTT is 260 with no errors in memtest86. That's it. No matter how LOOSE I try to let the timings be or how much juice, or what slot I put the second stick in either 2 or 3); the max I can run at is 260.

Now, the funny thing is that I can do these timings at 260...

BOTH sticks:
HTT = 260
1:1 ratio
CPC = 1t (that's right ONE timing!!)
tcl = 2.5
trcd = 4
trp = 4
tras = 10
trc = 10
trfc = 12
trrd = 00
twr = 2
twtr = 2
trtw = 2
tref = 3120
twcl = auto
skew = auto
async =8.0
preamble = 4.0
idle = auto
dynamic = enabled
queue bypass = 4x
bypass max = 2x
32 byte = enabled

As I tried to demonstrate above I can actually do CPC 1t at 260 and get no errors. Dropping it to 2t does NOT allow me to go further with both sticks at all. I'm at the end of my rope here.

My conclusions so far are one of these 2.

A) My motherboard is bad
B) the bios is bad for slots 2 or 3 for the memory.


I'm about to try a different bios and hope it works. I just like having the built in feature though for memtest86 that past bioses didn't have. So I have to hook my floppy drive back up now

Anyone else have any ideas on how I can get both sticks above 260?

CapFTP..... prova anke tu. Se hai lo stesso mio problema siamo fregati. Altro ke vitesta 566/600.

Dobbiamo trovare un modo di farle andare a 300. Abbiamo cosi tanti setatggi, magari si puo' fare qualkosa

Io penso che il problema non sia tanto nell'avere due moduli di ram perchè io con 2x256mb di ram sono salito tranquillamente a 270 e i margini per salire ancora c'erano a mio avviso.
Il problema nasce più che altro con i moduli da 512mb e può dipendere in parte sia dalla scheda madre che dai controller di memoria delle cpu: boh! Magari col 939 andrà diversamente chi lo sa!
