Ma se ne era già parlato di questo giocone, il cui demo è reperibile sul sito di AMD come esempio di gioco full 64 bit?

Dreadnought is a technical demo developed by Torc Interactive to showcase AMD64 and the Instinct Engine.

The demo concentrates on the technical proof points required to showcase the hardware and deliberately mimics generic run 'n' gun gameplay and corridor-style environments with only minimal AI.

Of particular note are the:-

huge number of interactive objects, including destructible environments
incredible sharpness of the ultra hi-res textures
'tentacle' gun as an alternative weapon and means of interacting with the game world
astounding numbers of particles affected by the world physics
Sin City-style post-processing effects when using the adrenaline mode feature in 64-bit

Ideally, players should have be running an AMD Athlon™ 64 FX, with the 64-bit version of Windows XP OS, a Radeon 9800 256MB card or GeForce 6800 with the latest 64-bit drivers installed, and have 2 Gigabytes of RAM.

Dreadnought will also run on lower end systems. Please refer to the Read Me in the installation for details

Modes
Dreadnought can run in a number of modes, each of which can be selected from the config app / launcher in the Program Files menu (Start > Program Files > Dreadnought)

The following five modes are available:

-64-bit Enhanced - uses 64-bit executables and high detail content. This mode highlights what can be done in the performance headroom created by -64-bit without losing performance over 32-bit
-64-bit - uses 64-bit executables with low detail content. Use this mode to compare against 32-bit
-32-bit - uses 32-bit executables with low detail content. Use this mode to compare against 64-bit
-32-bit LAA - 32-bit executables that are Large Address Aware. Runs with low detail content
Paintball - uses the selected executable and associated content detail, but turns off in-game gore and replaces it with colourful paintball decals. Try it out for something different
The 64-bit features (see press release for details) are only available when running either of the 64-bit modes on an AMD Athlon™ 64 FX, with the 64-bit version of Windows XP OS

Benchmarks
Dreadnought is a prime example of the performance differences that can be
experienced in games utilizing the power of AMD64 technology-based systems. The provided benchmarks are a means of gauging those 64-bit benefits

The key to this is comparing the frame rate scores of the 64-bit mode against the
scores obtained in 32-bit mode. There are two kinds of benchmark levels provided

The first are a series of sections extracted from the game level. These can be accessed from the config app without loading the full game level or in-game. The config app / launcher can be found in the Program Files menu (Start > Program Files > Dreadnought). For quick access to the benchmark areas in-game is to use the hot keys detailed in the installed Read Me file

We have also provided two additional custom made stress test levels. These provide a more controlled environment, as the stress test levels do not have any underlying game code executing, and therefore max out the physics, animation and lighting components of the engine. The Stress test benchmark levels can be accessed from the config app / launcher in the Program Files menu (Start > Program Files > Dreadnought)

Mamma mia, è la cosa - giocabile - più pesante che abbia mai visto!!!!!!!!
E' un misto di FarCry (come gameplay) e DoomIII (come ambientazione ,claustrofobicissima) e Half File2 (c'è un'arma assurdissima che fulmina e solleva tutto, come la gravity gun!)!

Motore veramente poderoso! Non fate caso alle texture sui sistemi a 32 bit, sono un tantino "scarse", ma segue appunto ciò che è stato detto (le texture ad altra risoluzione vengono caricate nel path 64 bit Enhaced).

Dai filmati il gioco è notevole. Ho appena scaricato la demo, ora riavvio il sistema in modalità 64bit e la provo.

Si può scaricare solo dal sito di AMD, dato che è una specie di "Demo" per le potenzialità dell'Athlon64 in ambiente nativo (64 bit).

Cmq è pauroso, SI POSSONO PURE DISTRUGGERE LE LUCI, che poi giustamente, SCOMPAIONO e si fa buio! Spero vivamente ci facciano un gioco intero nei prossimi mesi.....sempre che esista un sistema che non venga piegato in 2

Beh.....però hai la torcia infinita

)
Cmq è solo una techdemo alla fine, vale la pena di provarla per confrontare la grafica con quella dei "titoloni"

ho dedotto di si dal fatto che sul sito ufficiale ci sono i link alle recensioni ( attualmente 2 tutte in inglese ) e sul mulo ( se non sono fake ) c' è , ma pare in francese. Io aspetto qualche rece più completa
