Eliminare hiberfil.sys con EPM della ACER

Ho un portatile Acer Aspire 1694WLMi con WinXP SP2.

Il mio problema è quello di non riuscire più a disabilitare l'ibernazione da pannello di controllo, dal momento che mi richiama sempre l'applicativo EPM (E-Power Management) della Acer che ha sostituito quello standard di Windows XP, in cui sapevo come fare. Il problema è diventato grave e urgente da quando ho fatto l'upgrade della RAM a 2Gb e il file hiberfil.sys sulla root di C: mi è salito a 2Gb appunto e ora ho il disco C pieno
Su EPM ho messo la voce ibernazione su "Mai" ma il file è rimasto.

Sapete come fare per togliermelo dalle pa.... ehm scatole ?

EPM non ti consente di disabilitare l'ibernazione ? Allora disinstallalo oppure disabilitalo temporaneamente con ctrl alt canc e termina processo

Hi,

I googled nearly the whole web, and today I found the answer myself.
i think, it's the only way to get rid of the large hiberfil.sys without deinstalling the epm-software.
it works this way:

run the command box by klicking "run as..." and typing cmd
then you get a black window.

there, type powercfg /h off
with this command you shut down the hibernation-functionality und the hiberfil.sys is going to be deleted.
then, open your root directory on the system drive, e.g. C:\ and create an empty txt-file, which has to be renamed to hiberfil.sys

then, again in the command box, go to the path of your root directory (use "cd.." without the quotation marks and hit enter. repeat this until only "C:\>" is left)
there you type: "attrib +R +S +H hiberfil.sys" (without the marks)
and now the hiberfil.sys cannot be modified by the system itself.

For me it runs perfectly. I have 2 gB ram, and i think it was useless given away memory.
now, my hiberfil.sys ist at least 0 bytes large. And I have reowned the 2 gB of memory

Penso sia l'unico modo per togliere dalle p... scatole (^^) un grosso hiberfil.sys senza disinstallare l'utility epm di acer.

start->esegui.
scrivi

cmd

per entrare nel prompt comandi, o dos, o come lo si voglia chiamare.

nel prompt, digita:

powercfg /h off

con questo comando si toglie la funzione d'ibernazione, e automaticamente il sistema elimina anche l'hiberfil.sys.
ora bisogna creare un "hiberfil.sys" fittizio, in modo da far vedere al sistema che esiste ancora, ma di fatto non verrà mai riempito.
PS. questo mi sembra altamente strano, una volta che ho tolto la funzionalità di hibernate, a che scopo ricreare il file?

blocco note, crea un file vuoto e salvalo selezionando "tutti i file" al posto di "file di testo txt", e chiamalo appunto hiberfil.sys, salvandolo nella posizione del precedente, in C:\ .

questi passi si possono anche fare benissimo in risorse del computer, comunque facciamolo in prompt così è più bello.
una volta nel prompt, digita
cd..
tante volte, fino ad arrivare alla root, radice, C:\ .
una volta li puoi raggiungere l'hyberfil.sys fittizio appena creato, e dargli gli attributi di sistema, di nascosto e di sola lettura.
infatti, digita:

attrib +R +S +H hiberfil.sys

facendo così hai li in giro questo file da 0 bytes che è li a far nulla, e non si riempirà più.

No, it isn't unnecessary. If you do not create this file, the system or the acer ePM will create the hiberfil.sys again after a reboot because with the acer tool you cannot disable the hibernation. In my case there was after each reboot this 2gB large file. This way you have a 0 byte file and the system is not able to modify this file... even not after you reboot your system.
Of course, if you use this solution, you're not able to use the hibernation-feature.
