Impossibile installare internet explorer 7...

Per via di un errore navcancl.exe che non mi permetteva più di aprire ie7 ho deciso di disinstallarlo,decisione presa dopo esito negativo con varie scansioni anche in provvisoria...
Dopo qualche giorno con ie6 decido di reinstallare il 7 ma l'operazione non viene completata,al riavvio sul desktop mi trovo:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917925/
Seguo le indicazioni ma i risultati non cambiano.
Forse qualcosa mi sfugge nel metodo 2/1 2/2 con la storia delle autorizzazioni...ma controllando administrators ha i permessi selezionati...

Piccolo passo in avanti...
Come suggerito dal log se vado sul registro>internet explorer>searchurl
Al doppio clic:

Cliccando col destro>autorizzazioni:

Clicco ok quindi spunta:

Sicuramente dovrei intervenire su quest'ultimo passaggio,ma ancora non ho capito come...
Nell'attesa di un aiuto,faccio intanto un giro per vedere se trovo qualcosa in merito...

Sono riuscito ad impostare le autorizzazioni per la chiave in questione,aggiungendo utente,administrators e system selezionando per ciascuno i permessi su "controllo completo" e "lettura",ma la schermata alla fine è sempre quella,inesorabile....

Farò un ultimo tentativo,sempre che la causa sia quella,ad eliminare la suddetta chiave del tutto,dopo ciò non saprei più che fare...

Non sono riuscito ad installarlo ,posso cmq ritenermi soddisfatto perchè le ho provate davvero tutte,o quasi,mi spiego:
Ho fatto un punto di ripristino e un backup completo del registro,quindi:
1)Su user tasto destro>autorizzazioni su gruppi e utenti ho dato i permessi a tuttti poi vado su avanzate tolgo la spunta su "eredita...." e la metto a "sostituisci....":tentativo fallito
2)Scansione con spy search and distr:fallito
3)Maniere forti:elimino la chiave incrimininata:tentativo fallito

Mancherebbe all'appello la procedura tramite "SubInACL.exe" ma non mi ritengo al momento pronto per utilizzarlo,a questo punto vi chiedo

Ragazzi forse ho trovato la soluzione:

Third, open notepad again and paste the following:

Fifth, do a Start, Run, cmd

fix_reg.cmd
Reboot when finished.

Finally: Install IE 7 in Safe Mode with Netorking.

If the issue repeats itself, the problem lies in a corruption in the user profile. Create a new user with Administrative priviliges. Logon as this new user. Logoff. Boot into Safe Mode with Networking as the new user and try the IE 7 install again.

The above "fix" handles both installation issues.

The first wants a permissions change on:
• HKCR = HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
• HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
• HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Which I do.

The second wants a permissions change on HKCR which I do.

The one I see the most often with IE 7 Final is for this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl

Which leads to a final log entry of:
10.953: Update.exe extended error code = 0xf00d
10.953: Update.exe return code was masked to 0x643 for MSI custom action compliance.

So if you see any extended error code = 0xf00d complaints in the log, I have those covered.

This same error can appear as extended error code = 0x3f5 as well, and my "fix" will sort that issue"

Particularly with XP Home this can only be changed by an Administrative user other than the one listed as 'Owner', (likely the very account used for logon in most cases). Using Safe Mode, and using a New Administrative Account, avoids SID issues when changing the Permissions on the key.

The best part is the my "fix" takes about as long to do as read about it.
