Tips for each Weapon
Much of this most people already know. But, you may learn something.

Swarm missiles
Best in close ranges, over long distances half or all of the missiles lose the lock on the target
Close Range - build up as many as you can and fire before the other pilot realizes you are tailing him and hit the machine guns. Five swarm and a few machine gun shots equals instant kill.
Long Range - if your quite a distance from the enemy I find shooting one swarm missile at him useful. You may get him to use a chaff and cause him to be put in panic mode. Get closer and try to get on his 6 and take him out.

Homing Missiles
Definitely my go to weapon. Work very well over long distances and deals massive damage. Even though they work well over long distances I still try to get as close as possible to their 6 because it reduces the time the other pilot has to react. A homing missile and about 3 seconds of machine gun or two swarms and they're dead. The weapon is also very effective against ground targets like turrets, troops, and vehicles.

Air Mines
Definitely an underutilized weapon by many people. If you find yourself in trouble because a person is tailing you try to get into a narrow area and plant an air mine. The other pilot most likely won't have the time to react and you'll get the kill. They also work very well if you place them on important power-ups like health packs and homing missiles. They are also great for placing over the spawn of the planes of the enemy. The enemy get in the plane and boom they're dead. Very effective.

Lightning
A very fun weapon to use because its great to see people freak out with a charged lightning blast attached. Works best in close ranges when the reticle is completely red. When its completely red you got a 90% chance that it'll him 'em (it misses for me few time because of lag). Usually this makes other pilots try to go straight for health and give you a great opportunity to get on their 6 to finish them. This weapon is also very effective at killing troops on the ground when it's charged. A direct hit is an instant kill. It doesn't do anything to troops when its not.

Cluster Bombs
Many people complain how weak they are but I find that they are awesome. They key is to get very close to the ground to the point of skimming it. Release the bomb just before they disappear off the screen. I get kills 3 out of 4 times I use this weapon. Best for taking out tanks and troops but not very effective against 4x4's because they move so fast.

Tow Missile
Great for taking out turrets and areas around a flag. Find an isolated spot. Look at the map and make sure there are no enemy warhawks around you or coming in your direction. Carefully take a mental note of your target and its location with respect to yours so you know which way to direct it. If your target is a tank you need to direct the tow where its going to be if its moving. The picture is very blurry from a distance so you'll need to make last minute adjustments. Lastly, everything that is on your team will have a marker over it while firing the TOW. So if it you lose track of your target, and you see something that moves and doesn't have a marker its a good target for the TOW to salvage a kill.


Other Strategies

Taking out a Turret
Generally, this can be considered a daunting task because turrets in Warhawk are so powerful. But, the map is your best friend. You can tell what direction the turret is facing on the map. Try to get behind it and fire a homing missile in the back. A few bursts of machine gun and they are gone. If you don't have a homing missile, use a cluster bomb or charged lightning. A direct hit from a cluster will take it out but both will at least gravely injure the turret and the 'turreteer' (not a word) will most likely get out if they know what's good for them.
If by chance they spot you trying to make the kill on them, your best bet is to hit the afterburner and fly directly over them. DONT TURN AROUND you are a sitting duck because the longer your in their range the less chance you have at survival. Your warhawk's speed is much faster than the turret turning speed.

Taking out Ground Targets
Stick to Cluster Bombs, TOW missiles, homing missiles, and Lightning for Vehicles/troops. The Warhawk machine gun is very good for finishing off injured vehicles. Any other weapons take too long and leave you open to attack from other warhawks.


Evasion
If you can't be hit you wont die. Chaff is your best weapon against any incoming missile but here are techniques to use when you unfortunately don't have any chaff in your inventory.

Terrain Makes For Great Cover
If you are in a dogfight and losing, get to a mountain or building(they are in every map). Start hugging the mountain/building by closely flying around it. Hopefully, any missile trailing you will hit the terrain. Look for any opportunity to escape or get on the opponent's 6. Also stopping behind cover by pressing triangle is a great way to confuse the enemy in certain situations. Hit him with a few swarm missiles while he rounds the corner and then hit the afterburner it to a health pack and regroup.

No Terrain Around?
If your find yourself high in the air with nothing to hide behind, your next instinct should is to push both L2 and R2 and you will go into a 'powerslide' mode and you can them perform sharp corners. If you use pro controls (which I recommend), use of the right analog stick can make the turns even sharper. This is most effective against swarm missiles but I have gotten it to work well against homing ones.

Stealth
Stealth is key tool in evasion. It is very useful but also rare, so pick it up when you can. It won't stop a lock on from a missile so its not an alternative to chaff. However, it will prevent further missiles and machine gun fire from locking on and it makes you invisible to radar giving you precious time to bail from a crippled warhawk or search for some health packs.

Always Know where the chaff is
Always have chaff on you. If you don't have it, get it NOW. I get it even if I still have one left. You never know when it'll come in handy. Know where the chaff is on every map and always pick it up when you see it.

Giusto, perché 'sto nipote mi ha veramente rotto, ogni tre secondi mi apre come una scatoletta... Gli anziani zii vanno rispettati!
Comunque questa mattina ho visto una partita dove da una parte c'era Alucc e dall'altra un certo Speedy. Un capolavoro! Allo scadere del tempo è finita 50 a 50 con una rimonta di Alucc che ha avuto dell'incredibile. Alucc e Speedy si cercavano per tutta la mappa e si abbattevano senza pietà, colpo dopo colpo sia con gli aerei che a piedi che con le torrette. Che spettacolo! Io non sarò mai in grado di giocare così...
