Rendere il PC portatile più veloce
Ho acquistato da un amico un portatile Asus del quale riporto, a fine post, le caratteristiche hardware (ottenute rispettivamente coi comandi lshw e lscpu da terminale Linux).
Il portatile, sul quale ho fatto girare sia Windows 7, sia Linux Mint, sia Lubuntu è in generale molto lento. Lento al boot, ad avviare programmi, a navigare su internet, insomma un po' in tutto. Vorrei sapere se dando uno sguardo alle caratteristiche tecniche sia possibile rilevare uno o più componenti critici che possono essere la causa di tale lentezza, in modo da sostituire i componenti con più accortezza individuando i veri colli di bottiglia del sistema, invece che iniziare ad aggiungere banchi di RAM a caso. Cambialo con un ssd, i 240gb ormai sono a buon mercato. La differenza sarà netta. |

Lento. Di solito che pc usi?
Chiedo perché la lentezza può essere relativa. A parte questo, premettendo che quel Pentium può essere sostituito con vari Core i di prima generazione e che 4 gb di ram mi sembrano sufficienti per un uso normale del computer, il componente che più mi sembra debole nel tuo sistema è il disco fisso. Perché non solo è un disco meccanico @5400rpm ma è un disco meccanico @5400rpm piuttosto vecchio e lento. Perché non provi a verificarne i dati smart e, comunque, a sostituirlo?

Provvederò, come mi avete consigliato, a sostituire l'hard disk meccanico con uno a stato solido. Ho però un dubbio a tal proposito: acquistando un qualsiasi SSD per notebook avrò la certezza che sarà possibile montarlo correttamente sul mio portatile oppure esistono diversi tipi di montaggio? Beh, dai, acceso oltre 7000 volte e per oltre 9000 ore. Direi che il suo lavoro l'ha fatto.
![]() A parte questo e le voci "pre-fail" non mi sembra di aver visto settori riallocati o pendenti. Quisquilie comunque, come detto da Dumah il disco è lento (anche solo paragonandolo ad un 5400 contemporaneo) e vecchio. Son sicuro che risolverai sostituendolo. A riguardo del montaggio ti basterà cercare un SSD in formato 2.5". Sul tuo pc non c'è uno slot per msata o m.2.

Mi sembra che da regolamento non si possano postare link a siti di vendita, ma posso dirti che per quel prezzo e meno puoi trovare ssd kingston e sandisk, su Amazon (quindi con spedizione inclusa e la loro garanzia ed assistenza).
