Scheda per grafica 2d e simulazione: G400 vs Ati

Ciao ragazzi ho una g400 della matrox, 32MB, vorrei sapere se mi conviene passare ad ATI o a nVidia per guadagnare in prestazioni... per lo + la uso per fare disegni in autocad e simulazioni 3d (progetti di architettura)...

Oppure mi conviene svenarmi per passare a pharelia???

Forse... (dico forse perche' non sono totalmente esperto in questo campo) puoi comprare una 9600pro e "moddarla" in Fire GL

cio' ti darebe un boost prestazionale non a poco e sul costo sono sui 150€ circa

Questa è la mod presa dalla sezione su overclockin/modding/ecc

I completed the FireGL X2 Softmod following the following instructions. I dont have the original instruction posters name but if you find it please give credit where credit is due. Ran some WMP9 HD demos last night at 1080p and WOW! Amazing. The first time was a littel confusing on the X2 install but afterwards I uninstalled and then tried the catalyst and then back to the X2. Not sure but I think the X2 is better, but as said before their seems to be more noise.

1. go to ati.com/driver site and dl the newest FireGLX1X2T2Z1- Win2kXP-78841.exe;to all other drivers i cant say any word

2. extract the driver to a ../temp folder ,but dont install it

3. find out your chip-code (mom.ati-setting-panel or sisoft sandra,etc.) ... it looks like 0x4E48... write down your code...
the last two numbers are important.. for me the "48"!

4.go to www.guru3d.com and dl the newest rivatuner 12.4...install it /wherdoyouwant

5. go to your software-panel and deinstall all ati-software,go to your old .../Ati_Technologies/* and make sure that really all is deinstalled ,especially the old Panel folder crap...then reboot

6.open a bottle of beer,just open it and kiss your wife,he!

7.windows starts in vga modus...that should be null problemo!

8.now start the rivatuner menue/power user/icon "Open patch script" 3rd leftside at bottom

9.browse to ../patchscripts/ATI/Softfiregl/unified/antiprotection/.....
...you will see /driver + /fglmax + /fglpanel

10.what we now do is just only patching the install.exes,that the gl driver+panel can be installed..nothing more!

11.goin ../driver dblclick "atioglgl antiprotection w2k.rts" > continue next > browsetoyour ..\temp\Driver\2KXP_INF\B_10407 and patch the atioglgl.dll....it must be successfully! else goto 1

12. next go to the /fglmax folder "Installer antiprotection.rts" >.....> patch the setup.inx

13. now goto last /fglpanel folder "Installer antiprotection.rts">.....> patch the setup.inx for the ati-panel.......all installers are patched now!

14. for activating the 3d panel goto \temp\FGLPanel\ edit the install.ini and del the ";" before ;Direct3D=1 ... >save

15.it´s time to install the driver by device-manager>graphic card...the card must appear with two ! first/sec....first install the secundary by rightclick>update>by a list > self choose (sec button) > browsetoyour ..\temp\Driver\2KXP_INF...choose
CX_10409.inf for XP ,C2_10409.inf for win2k...install..i chose gl2 9800 pro sec...same for primary driver...then reboot

16.last step now..the MAX+ATi-Panel... MAX is optional i didn´t install it
....next temp\FGLPanel\Setup.exe and install the panel....browse to your task-manager kickoff the atiisrgl.exe (don´t remember exactly,if it autostarts)

17.gotoyour rivatuner patchscripts FGLPanel....and exec all the 11 missing patches exes+dlls by typing your chip-code in the continue-pulldown panel...all must be done successfully. note!: if not,goto 1.

18.browse to ati-install\Fire_GL_Control_Panel folder and click the atiisrgl.exe....the service will be installed

19.reboot

20.empty your beer & cross your fingers

21. display panel>advanced.. the fire x2-panel must appear with mass of cad- routines and settings,also the ati firegl x2 card

22. nothing else!

...prova a chiedere per la modifica della 9600pro, non ho idea come si faccia e se riesca sempre.
...in ogni caso le ATI FireGL e le Nvidia Quadro sono la scelta migliore se devi fare CAD, DCC, GIS. (potenti ed ottimizzate sia del punto di vista hardware che software).
...anche la Matrox Parhelia va bene, dipende cosa cerchi tu. (migliore 2D, qualità d'immagine perfetta, 3 monitor).
...ovviamente se i tuoi progetti si limitano al 2D o al massimo un rendering semplice con Autocad, puoi benissimo prendere una qualsiasi ATI Radeon (dalla 9600pro in su).
...altrimenti x ATI (le conosco meglio xè le uso) ti consiglio queste:

ATI FireGL 8800 128mb
ATI FireGL T2 128mb
ATI FireGL Z1 128mb
ATI FireGL X1 128mb

Risparmiando puoi prenderti una GF4ti4200 e modificarla tramite rivatuner a quadro.
In OpenGL è una scheda che va piuttosto forte, senza filtri penso + forte di una 9600pro.
