Danni al processore?
Ciao!
Ho un portatile Compaq Presario 2154EA, e ho installato la distribuzione Mandrake 9.2 di Linux. Il problema è che Linux non riconosce la ACPI del mio Computer e di conseguenza il mio processore Mobile AMD Athlon XP, 1400 MHz (3 x 467) 1600+ lavora sempre alla massima frequenza... Al di la che la batteria dura poco più di un'ora il fatto che lavori sempre al max comporta dei possibili danni al processore o posso lavorare tranquillamente anche sotto Linux? ![]() Grazie per le eventuali risposte Ultima modifica di Diego_Armando : 29-03-2004 alle 20:45. |

Forse ACPI non è abilitato nel Kernel , non so se mandrake lo integra .
Oppure potrebbe esserci un errore nel tuo Bios (situazione comune) che non rispetta precisamente gli standard ACPI mandando in pappa il kernel linux che non riconosce ACPI . Dovresti provare a ricompilare il kernel con l'opzione "Relaxed AML Checking" in questo caso , comunque se puoi postare il tuo DMESG sarebbe di aiuto , per farlo apri un terminale e digita : "dmesg" , appariranno una sfilza di parole, basta che fai copia e incolla di quello che c'è dentro . Comunque ti consiglio la sezione Linux , questa non è proprio la + adatta Ciao

Ciao!
Lo so che la sezione non è quella giusta, volevo solo sapere se fare andare il Pc senza ACPI poteva arrecare danni alla CPU. Sto ormai perdendo le speranze di fare andare la ACPI, non ci capisco più niente...ti chiedo un aiuto disperato!!!!Mi daresti una mano se ti mando il DMESG? Mi faresti un grosso favore |

ACPI è semplicemente disabilitato , come specificato qua :
ACPI: Interpreter disabled. Per abilitarlo apri il file /etc/lilo.conf , ti troverai una riga : append="dc=ide-scsi acpi=ht resume=/dev/hda6 splash=silent " o simile , basta che cancelli la linea "acpi=ht" e dovrebbe abilitarsi Poi da root devi lanciare il comando : "lilo" (molto importante, sennò è come se non avessi fatto nulla) Ciao PS= Per attivare le funzioni di PowerNow non so come fare , ma è possibile se il tuo portatile supporta lo Scaling

Grazie per la risposta, ma quello che dici tu non è la stessa cosa di abilitare la ACPI durante la configurazione di LILO nell'installazione?
..o è una cosa diversa? |
