A P4 Mobile CPU

So what is so special about the P4 Mobile CPU? First of all the P4 Mobile are normal Northwoods but built to run at a lower Vcore and built to produce less heat. Therefore it can be said that they are specially-selected Northwoods. This would give rise to the chance of a wonder chip being found. Because they perform the same as a normal Northwood, but yet they have to run at a lower core voltage, it tends to reason then that the core on these Mobile Northwoods would almost definitely be selected from the middle of a Wafer to obtain the best of Silicon. Having read this far, most users not new to overclocking would have already picked up that you would be able to reach higher speeds with these selected Processors or have them at normal speed with much less Voltage. However, I do realize sometimes that numbers or rather figures speak louder than words so have a look at this link and note the Wattage and Vcore and Thermal Design Power and Thermal Specifications =).

Rather than bore you with all technical aspects of the P4 Mobile CPU, we'd concentrate more on the more general details. For those who feel more challenged and would like to know more about the Mobile CPUs you can do so at this link The gist of it is that they have a normal "optimized" Vcore of 1.2 Volts (With Battery power) and a Vcore of 1.3 Volts for performance optimized via AC power. This information would be the most useful to yourself as you definitely do not want to put too much Vcore into this CPU without knowing what it is Spec(ed) at.

When u insert a mobile CPU into a normal Motherboard, the board's BIOs should default to the use of 1.5 Volts, as per a normal Northwood. Some Boards do have voltages as low as 1.1Volts should the need arise for you to run it at stock which you should see why in a moment.

So What is different about the Mobile CPU as compared to the normal Northwood?

Since we've already stated what happens when you put one of the Mobile CPUs into a Desktop Board, you'd have by now no doubt guess that the CPU is pin compatible with the normal P4 Northwood (Socket 478). What is different however is the packaging of the CPUs

Ciao

Guardate qua:

http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/list.asp

Mi ero posto il problema poichè tempo addietro ho acquisato un p4 a 2.4 bus a 533 molto strano;

http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...ALL&CorSpd=ALL

http://www.ecsusa.com/products/g732.html

Guardate qua:

questo è il processore per desktop:

http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...ALL&CorSpd=ALL

e questo è un processore mobile:

http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...ALL&CorSpd=ALL

http://www.intel.com/products/notebo...roc+prod_mp4p&

ftp://download.intel.com/design/mobi...t/25317609.pdf
