Another serious problem- Prescott temperature is too high: @@Before testing , Rex discovered another question, The over high temperature ask for a strong CPU heat sink. @@Through the test, Prescott is so hot that without a strong heat sink, PC refuse to work! Display on thermometer at Prescott bottom and side, bottom temperature flies up to 50‹C at booting then rise above 60‹C, equipped Cooler Master pure copper + Heat Pipe heatSink and 7*7*2.5 fan turning 6500 per minut (4P plug, big noise). Air-condition keeps the Temperature at 24‹C and cold wind blow to testing platform.. On this condition 70‹C is achieved difficultly. Say nothing of Pentoum 4 with aluminum CPU, so "Pentium 4 is quit not too hot" cann't last long. @@How does Intel resolve this problem leaded by high consuming power? Maybe at the end of this year. But at present user can do is buy advanced heat sink. Maybe Water-cool will be used on Pentium 4? Nobody knows. This hot potato must be done or Athlon 64 probably become main actor on the market! Whatever aluminum+copper bottom or standard aluminum material can not conquer the Prescott high temperature The pure copper HeatSink with supper violent fan can control it hardly at the temperature of 60‹C http://news.swzone.it/link.php?action=i&id=9165 |
