Audio e modem
Come qualcueno ricorderà ho, con il vostro aiuto instalato linuk RED HAT 8 sul mio PC e lo uso ormai da qualche tempo.
Ho ormai iniziato a prender la mano e ora verrei risolvere gli ultimi due problemi: 1) Audio: ho una abit nf7-s ma linux mi da errore e l'audio non funziona. 2) Il modem: mi hanno detto che alcuni modem sono per così dire castarti per abbassarne il costo e che la parte castrata viene emulata via software da windows che anche il mio sia così, il fatto e che proprio non lo rileva. Aiutatemi, mi piacerebbe usare linux anche sotto questi aspetti. P.S. Se può interessare uso come interfaccia grafica Gnome

che modem hai, così magari a qualcuno viene in mente qualcosa.
per la motherboard, su http://www.linuxcompatible.org/cdetail10660.html dicono che è compatibile e l'audio sembra funzionare. prova a postare l'output dell'errore

se non fornisci indicazioni piu precise è impossibile rispondere
digita dmesg in una consolle di root e cerca di capire che tipo di scheda audio hai (via intel cmedia ) poi bisogna sapere che tipo di chipset usa il tuo modem per sapere se va (conexant lucent agere ) guarda come te lo riconosce windows o che tipo di driver installi con win

Innanzitutto grazie dell'interessamento.
Allora l'audio è integrato sulla mia motherboard, una Abit nF7-s. Sono andato sul sito nVidia, dove ho trovato dei dreiver che scaricherò fra qualche giorno. igorlazunna hai scritto: se riesci posta anche l'output di /sbin/lspci -v dove devo metter questa linea di codice? In un terminale? Poi che cosa è un consolle di root Fatemi sapere e vi darò tutte le informazioni che volete

per avere un terminale di root o ti logghi direttamente come root o scrivi in un terminale
su poi metti la password di root che hai scelto nell'installazione e dai il comando poi il risultato lo copi in un file di testo e lo metti nella partizione si windows

Per il modem su gestione risorse è riportato solo:
Generic Soft K56 Se vi può interessare al dettaglio driver c'è scritto come fornitore "Conexant" Per i dettagli da linux vi faccio sapere tra poco. Comunque non credete che i driver che ho trovato sl sito nVidia bastino? L'indirizzo è: http://www.nvidia.it/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261_it.html

Ciao,
abbi fede... ti funzionerà tutto... l'audio è supportato, basta caricare i driver nVidia. Per quanto riguarda il modem, ti funzionerà anche quello, credo, c'è una discussione recente sull'argomento che ha prodotto buoni frutti qui sul Forum... cerca sotto il nome videal ( l'amico che l'ha iniziata ) ciaooooooooo

 certo che se tu installassi una versione di linux piu recente sarebbe meglio altrimenti prova per il modem con questi driver arrivano fino alla redhat 7.3 http://www.olitec.com/pci56kv2.html altrimenti qui http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/free/downloads.php anche se sono driver limitati a 14.4kb/s per l'audio devi installare questi driver oppure andare in edicola per vedere se trovi una versione piu recente che supporta il tuo chipset nvidia i driver li trovi qui e anche le istruzioni http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261.html se vai in edicola comunque è piu semplice

Fammi capire, se dovessi prendere una versione di linux più recente potrei risolvere i problemi modem?
Bene bene.... verdò di procurarmi la Red Hat 9.1 che se non sbaglio eè l'ultima. La prox settimana scarico i driver per l'udio e vi faccio sapere! Grazie dell'aiuto datomi finora
