Problema Flickering FX5900 in 2D,bug?

Andrew Vorobyew (anvakams), our video section editor, answering these forum questions related to screen flickering of NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900-based cards, informed that it seemed the reason of 2D flickering during scrolling of large and picture-rich texts was the 2D clock speed not reduced but set to the 3D nominal. The same flickering occurs in a number of menus or intermediate screens between tests (i.e. in 3DMark03).

This problem was examined on 4 different graphics cards with different drivers. FX5800 doesn't produce such artefacts, but one of the old 5900 Ultra cards on different PCB caused the flickering as well.

Andrew believes the flickering is caused by a hardware GPU bug or PCB circuitry (repeated in the new design) that produces crosstalk and/or raises 2D clock.

Gradirei evitaste i commenti ironico scarcastici se fosse vero come sembra.
Invece vorrei sapere se qualche possessore di FX5900(pochi ma ci stanno)ha notato questo problema.

Ho avuto in testing una settimana la 5900 Ultra di PNY e non ho notato quel problema.
Stesso dicasi per la 5900 liscia POW testata da Franki.
Altre non ne ho avuto modo di provare

IO che ho la 3DBLASTER 5 FX5900 ULTRA.
Non ho riscontrato nessun problema per fortuna.

Brian Burke of NVIDIA has for the 2nd time now this week broken the golden “company policy” rule that states “It is against company policy for NVIDIA employees to post in forums”. He tells us that today :” We had one person in the Bay area confirmed with these symptoms. He was kind enough to agree to visit us. We had him come in to the NVIDIA offices today. We were able to see the “flicker issue” and try some things to fix it. We have some good theories about the cause. Next step is to reconstruct his system, prove our theories, and then find a solution.”.

X flickering si intende uno sfarfallio delle immagini,dovuto ad un refresh lento.

News di nV Italia - Sab. 09 Agosto

Avevamo riportato, qualche giorno fa, una news nella quale si faceva riferimento all'appello di Brian Burke, rappresentante di nVidia, a tutti gli utenti che avessero riscontrato problemi di flickering, quivering o di rolling lines con le schede video della serie FX. Oggi apprendiamo che nVidia ha invitato, nei sui laboratori, uno degli utenti che hanno risposto più prontamente all'appello di Burke, ed ora sta studiando il sistema dell'utente per capire da cosa dipenda l'insorgere di tali inconvenienti. Burke ha dichiarato che i tecnici hanno già elaborato delle teorie sull'origine del problema e che ora non resta che confermarle.
