Uffa sto mplayer...(e sti alsa)
Allora rieccomi qua!

L'unica cosa che mi viene in mente di dirti è di scaricare i sorgenti da http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ e compilarlo.
Non avrai paura a compilare spero, hai gentoo.  Ehi, sono al 300-esimo post, e sono senior member!

comunque adesso mi sto spulciando il forum della gentoo... e vedo che sono in buona compagnia in fatto di problemi con i driver alsa cs46xx...
Sulla sb live ho risolto.... (a volte sono proprio imbeci**e!!!) Ciao
