hhd smart capability
Ho trovato come da topic questa voce nel bios, io ho messo disabled..ma che cosa significa?..come faccio a sapere se i miei hd lo supportano?..sono un ibm ata 100 e 1 maxtor ata 133..grazie

SMART = Self Monitoring Analisys & Reporting Technology
è un sistema che cerca di prevedere se l' harddisk sta per morire (SGRAT) sulla base degli errori di lettura, rilevazione di settori corrotti, velocità di trasferimento e vari altri dettagli... il bios lo rileva dalla scheda ellettronica dell' HD e dice OK o BAD nel setup è disabilitato per default perchè pare che per il monitoraggio vengano impegnate leggermente di più le risorse ide e calino in (minima) parte le prestazioni in accesso al disco
