Qui c'è la cronologia di un flop annunciato
After buying 3Dfx's assets, Huang combined the two teams of engineers and put 200 of them on the company's biggest project, the NV30 chip, later renamed the GeForce FX. But distractions were piling up. Earlier, Huang put another 200 engineers on a special side project to develop the graphics and communications chips for Microsoft's Xbox. Nvidia also branched into chip sets, mobile chips and chips to go with AMD's 64-bit Hammer processors. The first two projects worked out well, but the Hammer family has been delayed.

Avrebbero fatto una migliore figura facendo uscire la GFX NON ultra quindi senza turbina... sarebbe stata inferiore ad ATI ma almeno non avrebbero innescato la presa per il culo "FX=turboreattoreatomico" che ormai rimarrà nella storia!!!

Bha... dopo l'azzeccata 4200 la nVidia si è montata troppo la testa...

Ma io mi domando: perchè fare certe dichiarazioni? Già c'è mezzo mondo che ti prende per il c@lo per via della scheda multiuso che ha sfornato (le ultime immagini la danno come phon, turbina di un aereo, reattore atomico e chi più ne ha + ne metta

) e lui dice certe cose!

Dovrebbero occupare il tempo a lavorare sul gffx piuttosto che fare dichiarazioni di vittorie mancate.

It's nice to see ATI becoming very aggressive and took the crown from nVidia. They're doing it again... very soon. It's getting closer for R350 to arrive, possible with 400MHz speed. What makes me wonder if ATI's really serious about releasing R350 in first week of March? (in Darth Vader's voice) Impressive.

The R350 chip which powers the new series of graphics cards is expected to run 15-25% faster than ATI's current fastest chip. It is aiming to deliver the new chip at a speed of 400MHz, though many pundits suspect it will end up settling on 375MHz. Either speed should put it comfortably ahead of nVidia's yet-to-be-released GeForce FX, which only just beats the current ATI flagchip. Those famous nVidia driver optimisations will need to come thick and fast.
