Hdd esterno mi chiede di formattarlo

Ciao, ho iniziato a leggere le guide sul forum ma vorrei comunque un consulto.

Ho un HDD ESTERNO WD da 500gb

Una bella mattina non si riesce ad aprire, su windows mi esce il solito "Disco non formattato... formattare il disco"

Ho provato ad aprire con ubuntu ed ho questo messaggio di errore

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.

Qualche consiglio?

Al momento sto provando con Piriform Recuva a recuperare dei dati necessari.

magari hai semplicemente "perso" la partizione.

Ciao, o il messaggio a dovuto al cavo usb difettoso o ai collegamenti del box interno, o il disco è rovinato .

Se è molto rovinato copiare i dati comprometterebbe ancor di più la situazione .

Prova con TestDisk, però da un certo punto di vista, sarebbe meglio clonare il disco stesso .
