consiglio istallazione sdd o hd in caddy su dv6115ea

Mi sono deciso ad ordinare ssd ( samsung evo 120 gb) e il caddy per un notebook hp dv6115ea

Ho pero scoperto che il dvd rom e attaccato ad una porta che non è sata ma atapi.

Posso inserire nel caddy l' hd meccanico sostituendolo con sdd per non strozzzare l ssd? L' HD meccanico rischierebbe seriamente danni nel caddy?

Oppure e megliol lasciare l hd meccanico al suo posto ed usare ssd nel caddy su porta atapi?Il decadimento delle prestazioni dell' sdd sarebbe sarebbe consistente?
