canon ip 4500 ubuntu 12.10

ho fatto l'aggiornameno a ubuntu 12.10 Quantal. La mia stampante canon ip4500 che fino ad ora funzionava perfettamente ha smesso di funzionare. Ho seguito le istruzioni riportate in vari post anche in questo forum per l'installazione dei driver ma sembra che qualcosa non vada.

ho scaricato i driver da qua
http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0030811.asp
e provando ad installare i due file deb mi da un errore per una questione di dipendenze,
in particolare

libcupsys2

Al che provo pravando ad installarlo ma ottengo

    sudo apt-get install libcupsys2
    [sudo] password for andrea:

    Nota, viene selezionato "libcups2" al posto di "libcupsys2"

    Usare "apt-get autoremove" per rimuoverli.

ma non risolvo nulla comunque. Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema?

stando alle altre discussioni che ho trovato in rete si. Solo che nessuna di queste faceva riferimento alla mia versione di ubuntu. Erano tutte versioni precedenti.

ho gia provato con quella guida ma il pacchetto citato non compare ne sul software center ne su synaptic. Inoltre inserendo il secondo repository che ho citato

Il problema è che anche disattivo il repo ppa:michael-gruz/canon-2012 e poi vado su synaptic, dopo aver aggiornato l'elenco, i paccheti interessati non compaiono sulla lista. E se provo a collegare la stamapante mi appare la finestra per l'installazione ma non mi da nessuna possibilita di scelta del modello come avviene solitamente.

devi aprire il file /etc/apt/sources.list con il comando

sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list

e inserire in coda al file

poi salvi e dai

sudo apt-get upgrade

ora da synaptic dovresti vedere i pacchetti che riguardano la stampante canon
