montare hard disk da 3.5 sul portatile
Salve a tutti, sto utilizzando un vecchio portatile che ha un hard disk pata davvero poco capiente e molto lento.
Mi stavo allora chiedendo se esistesse un modo per collegare il portatile ad un hard disk da 3.5 pollici sostituendo così quello da 2.5, ma senza utilizzare un adattatore usb perchè il portatile non supporta il boot da usb? Ovviamente non è necessario che l'hard disk venga installato all'interno... Grazie

teoricamente si, a patto che sia di una dimensione massima rilevata dal bios (dipende da quanto è vecchio il portatile), però resterebbe il problema dell'alimentazione, i dischi da 2,5 usano 5V mentre quelli da 3,5 12V e 5V...

Il portatile è un asus a2000h. Diciamo però che forse il problema del boot l'ho risolto installando plop boot manager che dovrebbe permettere il boot USB anche su pc che ne sono sprovvisti.

può solo fare il boot da usb fdd, cioè da un drive floppy usb se non erro...
diciamo però che con il programma plop boot manager questo inconveniente è superato. a rigor di logica dovrei più facilmente trovare un adattatore pata -> usb, magari con alimentazione esterna per ovviare ai 12v...
