Internet Key k3715 problema con VMC.BaseServices.RegystryAccessor

Ciao a tutti sono nuovo del forum, SPERO di essere nella sezione giusta, avrei bisogno di un grosso aiuto.
Un mio amico ha acquistato da poco una Internet Key K3715, ma purtroppo su un vecchio PC con la seguente configurazione:
Win XP SP2
Pentium III 500Mhz
320MB di RAM
HD da 20GB formattato di recente, dopo che ha installato il software della Key (anche provando ad installare l'ultima versione) visualizza ad ogni avvio del sistema o avvio del programma Vodafone Mobile Connect il seguente errore:

Program error

The type initializer for’VMC.BaseServices.RegistryAccessor’ threw an exception.
System.ArgumentNullException: Value can not be null.

Ovviamente il software non si avvia e quindi non è possibile usare la chiavetta.

Qualcuno ha idea a cosa sia dovuto o ha già trovato una soluzione?
Dimenticavo di dirvi che ho provato la chiavetta sul mio portatile e funziona senza problemi.
