Aggiungere RAM
Ho acquistato due banchi da 512M da aggiungere ai due già presenti per ottenere almeno 2G. Ho infatti 4 slot disponibili di cui 2 occupato da due banchi da 512 M DMM1
Li ho inseriti degli appositi alloggiamenti, ma il sistema continua a vedere solo 1G. Per curiosità ho smontato le vecchie memorie e le ho sostituite con le nuove: lo vede benissimo, il suo bravo giga. Quindi le memorie nuove funzionano. Installo anche le vecchie negli altri slot e ne vede sempre e comunque solo 1G. Accidenti. |

Ma se lancio da terminale il comando free ecco cosa vedo pier@pier-desktop:~$ free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1024988 731032 293956 0 17216 315220 -/+ buffers/cache: 398596 626392 Swap: 2996080 0 2996080 Anche il monitor di sistema vede 1 Giga Che misteri sono mai questi? |

Le istruzioni della MOBO dicono che si possono installare fino a 4 banchi da 1 Giga l'uno per un massimo di 4.
Inoltre segnalo un'ulteriore curiosità: all'avvio del boot, mi appare (tra le altre) questa scritta
