Ubuntu a 32 o 64 bit?
Ciao a tutti,
ho appena preso un Intel CoreDuo e sapendo che è a 64 bit sto valutando l'installazione di ubuntu a 64 bit. Qualcuno però me lo ha sconsigliato dicenco che ci sono problemi con alcune applicazioni (ad esempio firefox o flash). C'è qualcuno che ha provato ad installarla e se ha riscontrato problemi? Ci sono inoltre miglioramenti di prestazioni rispetto alla versione a 32 bit (considerando anche il processore) ? Grazie |

I miglioramenti prestazionali ci sono e sono stimati intorno al 30% (più che altro per la maggiore ottimizzazione dei pacchetti x86_64). Per firefox+flash dovrai utilizzare uno wrapper (nspluginwrapper).
In definitiva, se non sei molto pratico di linux o comunque non vuoi sbattimenti, vai di 32 bit (io uso debian sid amd64).
