Problema Xserver e console

Ciao a tutti, ho un problema: da quando ho creato xorg.conf con fglrxconfig (fra l'altro sono riuscito a fare funzionare l'accelerazione 3d, quasi non ci credo ) non mi funzionano piu le console che si aprono con control alt F.
E pure se faccio ad esempio killall gdm non funziona, lo schero rimane semplicemente nero. Sono quasi sicuro che c'entri il file di configurazione perchè se lo rimpiazzo con il vecchio che usavo funziona tutto... che debba aggiungere/togliere qualche riga?
