L'aspetto che meno mi piace dell'hip hop e' che ci sono troppi campionanenti rubati dal soul e dal funky anni 70 e primi anni 80.
A me piaceva il primo rap (Sugar Hill Gang, Kurtis Blow) tra il 79 e l'83 e l'elettrobeat tra l'83 e l'85 (Hashim, Afrika Bambaataa).
Odio il termine "old school"; non ha senso; il Jazz, il Rhythm & Blues e il Doo Wop degli anni 50 allora sarebbero l'old school per il soul, il funky e la dance/disco degli anni 70....

ma sai, anche il rock va avanti sempre con quei 3 accordi, ed il blues uguale... se svari un pò ("the commitments" ) inizi a fare il jazz con le sue dissonanze... che poi son sempre quelle da 50 anni!
a me la musica che ho appena citato fra l'altro piace tutta, non la sto criticando, ci mancherebbe .
l'hip hop, la black, e l'R&B moderni, sono l'evoluzione di tutto ciò che è stato fatto e detto nel blues, nel funky, nella motown... da james brown ad aretha franklyn... J.T. taylor, a michael jackson dei tempi che furono...
si, oggi si utilizzano moltissimo i campionamenti, si campionano loop di percussioni, singoli strumenti o interi groove, voci, cori, suoni che hanno fatto epoca... nell'hip hop, almeno per come la vedo io, è una sorta di tributo ai grandi del passato, un mix di nuovo e tecnologico e di radici che affondano nella tradizione.
del resto è "black, africa, il nuovo e il passato in un continuo riflusso che spesso anche a noi appare così incasinato
anche nei testi sono consuete citazioni e interi incisi che sono ripresi da altre e precedenti canzoni, spesso poi ci si fa la guerra l'uno con l'altro a colpi di rap...
certo che deve essere dura crescere in un ghetto americano nero e viverlo veramente l'hip hop, non come noi che dopotutto lo amiamo dall'esterno...
