Il Dlink incorpora un chipset Globespan che è voracissimo e consuma ben 400mA vicino ai 500mA delle specifiche USB. Questo unito ad altri fattori (driver non eccelsi) porta ai problemi lamentati.
Le soluzioni percorribili sono:
Ethernet e non ci pensi più
Modem ADSL con chipset Falcon2P di Conexant, copnsumano molto molto meno.
