Closed captioned videos and DVDs show the soundtrack of the video or DVD in text format on the screen. Closed captions are hidden and can be accessed through a closed caption decoder (CCD) or Video Reader.

Il problema rimane: secondo te riuscirò a visualizzare i sottotitoli con powerDVD? In altri termini che differenza c'è con i tradizionali "subtitles"? Non mi spiego perchè hanno utilizzato questo termine... forse qualche forma di protezione?

The closed captioned signal is a hidden text signal that is embedded in the video signal portion of most broadcast television programs and DVD and VHS movies, and is made available for the hearing impaired.
A closed caption decoder is required to view this text.

OK grazie, finalmente ho capito la differenza: da varie ricerche condotte in rete, sembra che PowerDVD sia in grado di visualizzare il "closed captioned signal", nascosto (un pò come il teletext... correggetemi se sbaglio) tra il segnale video; sulla versione 6 non trovo tuttavia nessuna opzione relativa a tale caratteristica... a meno che debba essere utilizzata la generica voce "subtitles".
