Divx502 errore "could not open log file"

Ogni volta che cerco di comprimere un video usando il codec divx 5.02 con le opzioni two pass (con il single pass l'errore non si presenta) appena avvio la conversione il tutto si blocca generando l'errore "could not open log file". ma che diavolo vuole? le ho provate tutte per farlo funzionare ma sino ad ora una compressione con il metodo dei due passaggi per me rimane un mito irraggiungibile.

Questo mi succede a prescindere dal software che uso per comprimere in quel modo (easydivx, flaskmpeg, nandub, virtualdub,....) quindi credo sia un problema del divx 5.02 stesso.
Come risolvo?

Vista l'opzione usa MV file nelle proprietà del codec ;)

in quale dei 4 pannelli (le 4 linguette insomma) del codec divx 502 devo settare questa cosa visto che non la vedo?
1.pannello "divx codec"
2.pannello "general parameters"
3.pannello "advanced pèarameters"
4.pannello "manage settings"

non la trovo e nn ho mica capito che sia poi. mv? e che sarebbe?

Se usi il metodo 2pass devi fare il procedimento 2 Volte.
La prima con "2pass- first pass" (inquesto caso viene creato un file di log e un file avi fittizio illeggibile ma necessario al second pass che farai DOPO)
La seconda volta devi rifare tutto usando "2pass-SecondPass"; a questo punto usando il file di log generato nel primo passaggio viene creato il file avi definitivo.
Se usi direttamente il second pass senza aver fatto prima il first pass si ottiene l'errore "could not open log file" proprio perchè non viene trovato il file log (e nemmeno il file avi) che dovevano essere stati già generati con il first pass.

4.1 - What is 1-pass encoding?
1 pass encoding makes the video aimed at producing output with a fixed average bitrate. When this mode is turned on, the encoder automatically adjusts level of compression for your media as it is compressed. Long high-motion scenes will cause it to increase compression level; and likewise, scenes with low or no motion will be compressed less.

4.2 – What is 1-pass quality-based encoding?
In this mode, all frames receive the same amount of compression, without regard to their complexity. While it is not the best choice for making archives, it is a good idea to use this mode when preparing content for future editing. It guarantees the preservation of quality in all frames.

4.3 - What is 2-pass encoding?
In this mode, the encoder will try to make the subjective quality of the stream constant, and simultaneously make the complete stream size close to the number you specified. If you want to encode a 2-hour show that it fits on a 650 Mb CD, this choice is for you.

Operation in this mode is most complicated, because it requires the source to be processed twice. 2-pass encoding is independent from any application you may use for encoding. It can be used with any program. However, it needs to use an external file on your hard disk to temporarily store encoding data.

This error occurs when you try to encode a video in 2 pass, 2nd pass mode without encoding the video in 2 pass, 1st pass mode beforehand. Refer to question 4.4 for instructions on how to do a 2-pass encode.

*******4.5 - How do I make a video using 2-pass (VBR) mode?
Open the encoder config dialog and select “Variable bitrate mode” --> “2-pass, first pass.” The encoder analyzes the source during first pass, creating a log file with information about the frames. "Log file" field in encoder configuration dialog must point to the place where encoder has write permissions (you'll need about 250 kb of disk space for each 1 minute of video).

Start encoding process. Encoding program will create an unplayable AVI file and write the log file. When it's finished, return to the config dialog and select “variable bitrate mode” --> “2-pass, second pass.” Start encoding (source must be exactly the same!). At this time, the encoder will read the log file and write a real VBR AVI. It is best to use the same “performance/quality” setting for both passes, but it is not an absolute requirement. Don’t use 'fastest' for either of two passes. You can also use different values for “bitrate” in first and second passes, but if they differ much (e.g. 200 vs. 900 kbps), the encoder may have problems achieving the file size you w
