Da un po' di tempo volevo fare questo thread ma sono troppo pigro... :D

Meno male che qualcuno ci ha pensato :)

Sul gioco che dire se non che è davvero fantastico: praticamente padroneggiarlo DAVVERO richiede non meno dedizione (e dà non meno soddisfazione) di un moba tradizionale (stile dota 2). Per chi come me ha sempre sofferto il fatto che l'originale magicka fosse quasi deserto sul lato multiplayer, beh questa è la release migliore che ci potesse essere.

L'unica vera pecca attualmente risiede non nel gioco ma nella community: molto semplicemente una media di 1200 persone in game è davvero poco per creare sfide sempre equilibrate. Ciò si vede soprattutto nei duelli uno contro uno più che nella modalità 4vs4. Spero davvero che si cresca di numero ma, onestamente, a vedo assai dura...

Ultima cosa: non è assolutamente un pay to win. Conta solo la skill.

Casomai spero di non essere l'unico avventore del thread :D

Per quanto riguarda lo store tutti gli items sono presenti in duplice copia: una variante la acquisti con valuta in-game l'altra con valuta reale. Ma gli oggetti hanno le stesse proprietà! Cambia solo il colore. Da segnalare che per comprare gli oggetti più avanzati con valuta in-game devi essere di un certo livello almeno (stabilito a seconda dell'item). Questa limitazione non c'è per gli acquisti con soldi veri: in teoria puoi essere livello 1 e comprarti equipaggiamento end game. Ma la cosa veramente importante è che l'equipaggiamento non fa sostanziale differenza: perchè è vero che aumentano una statistica ma parallelamente ne diminuiscono un'altra. Quindi l'equipaggiamento più pregiato può essere un'arma a doppio taglio: perchè ci sarà un elemento a cui sarai grandemente esposto.

Però non sembra che tutti i vestiti abbiano una variabile acquistabile con le corone: ad esempio ho visto il bundle dell'estate (non sono sicuro del nome) in cui c'è un vestito che non è acquistabile singolarmente e non sembrano esserci varianti acquistabili con le corone.

Hai ragione: i bundle (almeno alcuni) sono acquistabili solo con soldi veri. Ma sono minuzie: e anzi penso sia pensato per permettere di aiutare gli sviluppatori e avere in cambio un qualcosa di esclusivo e tematico che lo mostri a tutti.
Ma ci tengo a precisare, soprattutto per chi magari entra in questo thread non sapendo nulla del gioco, che tutto ciò che compri nello store non è poi così influente: ogni oggetto ha i suoi pro e i contro e si può scegliere di giocare con l'abbigliamento base senza problemi. Anzi io tengo il base proprio perchè così posso variare di più le tattiche senza dover essere legato a un elemento in particolare.

E' vero, anche io ho sostanzialmente giocato sempre con la veste di base combinata con il bastone della velocità, solo recentemente ho aggiunti anelli di velocità ed utilizzato una veste diversa, sempre per la velocità. :D

Edit: sto provando la nuova mappa. :D

Edit 2: ma sai come si fa il balletto? l'ho visto in tutti i trailer... :D

Network
- Improved smoothness of networked players through a series of changes.
- Fix for administrators moving stuff in store offer catalogues and users not being able to log-in.
- Stability fixes for log-in server.
- Fixed issue where client could get stuck in a valid log-in server state even if connection was down.
- Fixed issue where client connection to log-in server could timeout when connected due to heartbeat.
- Changed log-in timeout (Slug) on client to 2 minutes.
- Split the Sasquatch error message into Sasquatch and Gorilla, for more detailed debugging.
- Fix for Perma-Slug on Steam enabled login and game servers.
- Optimized beam raycasts.
- Telemetry is now flushed every 60 seconds on the game server. This should stop the telemetry from overloading the server.
- Fixed a syntax error resulting in login server crashing when a connection was missing.
- When re-reading a users level details on the login server, we actualy store the stuff localy, not just discard it randomly! This will hopefully slay the Chicken errors.
- Fixed a logic issue on game server making it available to connect to even though it shouldn't be.
- Added local retries when receiving the "failed to retrieve server id" steam network error. Hopefully this should reduce Hagfish errors.
- Fixed an issue where the game server wouldn't unload accounts when removing players prematurely.
- No more store crashes when failing to retrieve offer.
- Fixes a login server crash when the player was not eligable for buying an item in the store.
- The assembly info dispatcher no longer magically assumes a player exists on the login server. This should prevent a bunch of crashes.
- Login server entry state will not try to register itself to the match maker status multiple times now.
- Added quit modal to Tutorial and Training Grounds when losing conection to the game server.
- Better timeouts for EAC to reduce false positives in the form of Saquatches and Dirty Rats.

Matchmaking
- MM connection keeper will now shut down unused socket connection with MM after registration is complete - This is in order to avoid resource exhaustion on MM side.
- Introduction of maximum rating span a player will accept to be matched within - New players will accept only a very narrow band of ratings. This means slower matchmaking, especially if you happen to be placed at the extremes of the scale.
- Slowing down the widening of the rating span containing acceptable players for a match. This means slower matchmaking across the board.
- Reciprocal accept introduced, meaning that you won't get sucked into someone's match just because they happened to have waited a long time. This means slower matchmaking, especially under low-usage periods.
- Downweighting of new players - New players will be, from an MM perspective, matched very lightly. For a time. This means slower matchmaking for experienced players as the new players are removed from their "area" of the rating spectrum.
- Removal of party strength bonus for sub-average players. It takes skilled players to exploit teamwork meaningfully, and should remove the strain of new players having to contend with strong players just because they happen to team up with their friends.

Sound
- Changed sound on the Scaffolding prop in Galdrhöll Halls, since it didn't match the visuals very well.
- Lowered volume on ambience sounds in Galdrhöll Halls level.

Menu
- Change region in menu, no need to restart client anymore.
- Adapted play button, store gui and magick gui to fit localized strings.

UI
- Engine fix calculating correct string width, fixes incorrect line breaks and overlapping strings.
- Use the average between engine caret position and correct string width for actual caret position.
- Corrected mouse position scaling.
- Corrected a colour issue on the Glowing version of the PLAY button.
- Extended PLAY button width and shrunk the wooden Dragon Heads.

HUD
- Correct positioning of match notifications for all aspect ratios.
- Tweaked the color tint of the dead state so that wards and robe colors can be more easily seen.

Weapons
Gungnir tweaks: (these were introduced last patch but the notes disappeared, so here you go!)
- Chain damage changed from 250 to 280.
- Charge time from 0.75sec to 1sec.
- Projectile damage from 462 to 500 (ergo it now shatters again).
- Projectile range shortened to fit approx. one screen.
Other
- Flintlock Pistol projectile range shortened to fit approx. one screen.
- Fixed the hit sounds for weapon projectiles, now every surface should produce some kind of sound.
- Moved Bearded Axe ability damage trigger from 0.35sec to 0.375sec to better match animation.
- Changed Rusty Knife's ability from Shank to Flourish, so it now the grind equivalent of the Sacrificial Dagger.
- Adjusted ability movement for Wrench to follow the animation better.

Localization
- Fixed wrong stat in description for Ring of Speed.
- Added some missing strings in all languages.
- Made "region" in the main menu localized.
- Made the game mode names be the same in setup and play button for German and Russian.
- Fixed typo in German for "Connecting..."
- Added string for redeeming content.
- Added strings for party and friends list to Brazilian Portuguese.
- Added missing string for Death (Grim Reaper) in kill log.
- Rewrote some strings for party functionality.
- Rewrote the Player Rank names.
- Localized damage number system. Uses English as placeholder for untranslated languages.
- Rewrote ability description for Exotic Blade to match updated animation, as it has no second attack.
- Fix for a typo in Polish when creating a new account.
- Fix for a typo for Lab Robe skin 2.
- Changed "pink" into "purple" for the Illusionist Robe skin 3 description. Did I mention I was color blind?
- Localized "assist" strings.

Spells
- Changed so that EDF isn't immune to Water damage. It now gets properly demolished by the essence of wetness.
- Removed arming timers from Bombs. These will have to be properly implemented before they're regarded as a proper mechanic. New testing process, ho!
- Mines and Elemental Storms now belong to separate batches, Barriers/Bombs and Shields still belong to one and the same.
- Beam damage interval changed from 0.3sec to 0.2sec for improved responsiveness. DPS remains the same.
- Earthquakes (!D) now trigger mines to be consistent with other AoEs.
- Knockdown now properly overrides melee attacks.
- Allow Sprays inside Dome Shields (the edge of the shield will still block the spray in both directions).
- Server controlled knockdown damage. This should prevent occasions where two players are able to knock down each other in close succession, as technically the first knockdown should cancel the other.
- Projectile overcharge fixes, the damage should now actually match the charge bar, regardless of affinity.

Magicks
- Meteor Shower effects tweaked to show what actually happens - where will the damage area be and how large was the explosion. For realz this time.
- We now clear the Spell Queue when casting Haste, this so that it is consistent with other Magicks.

Chat
- Moved chat off game-servers.

Store
- Make robe skin the highest priority in the store categories. This makes robe offers slightly less painful to make and display.

Bug/Crash Fixes
- Killed logging of resource packages so we don't spoil the surprises!
- Chill state now also accepts 0 chill damage.
- Fixed possible overflow exploit in sync data.
- Fixed floating damage numbers discrepancies on clients.
- Fixed a few occasions where the wizard would not move even though LMB was held down.
- Fixed an occasional crash in Duel game mode.
- Fixed the physics for the cart near the sheep pen in the default Wizard Warfare map, as it would behave badly when hit by projectiles.
- Speeding Imps fixed.
- Bubble shield overlap check crash fix.
- Fix for beams that sometimes appeared to be shorter than they really were.
- Fix for Weapon and Staff idle effects not triggering when displayed again after being hidden.
- Fixed so that when a weapon is hidden or displayed again (like in some weapon ability animations) the appear/disappear particles cannot be triggered twice in a row.
- Correct familiar now equipped again. Yay Founder Imp!
- The sound environment is now set when you enter a match as well as in game state menu and game state rewards. This means no more echo in the lobby or menu after playing in Galdrhöll Halls!
- Moved the error message in the lo-gin screen to the correct place.
- Correctly tagged textures so that they scale with the "texture quality" in video settings. Low will be really low, but medium will be a lot more performant than before.
- Fix for a crash occurring in Training Grounds when gibbing Timmy the training dummy.
- Made it harder to boost players on top of the logs of the default Wizard Warfare map.

Direi che la cosa più interessante è il "nuovo" matchmaking: finalmente si sono accorti che è meglio aspettare 40 secondi in più a trovare una partita se in cambio si ha un assortimento di giocatori più equilibrato. Evidentemente si sono accorti che i neofiti diventano troppo spesso solo carne da macello: col nuovo sistema all'inizi i nuovi giocatori giocheranno solo fra di loro.

Incrociamo le dita per la tenuta e l'ampliamento della community: davvero non mi spiego il perchè dello scarso successo del titolo finora. Va anche detto che l'advertising su questo gioco è stato davvero minimo: io stesso, grande fan di magicka, l'ho scoperto solo pochi mesi fa...

Si, ma come funzionerà questo sistema? Spero non semplicemente in base al livello.

Per quanto riguarda la community/numero utenti, so solo che ogni volta che ne ho voglia riesco trovare partite senza problemi. :asd:

Non funziona con il livello ma come in tutti i moba (dota 2, league of legends...) con un parametro chiamato ELO. Si tratta di un numero, e più alto è e più dovresti essere forte. Se vinci partite aumenta se le perdi cala ma non sempre della stessa somma: se vinci contro squadre fatte da giocatori con un ELO alto, allora il tuo ELO salirà tanto. Se batti una squadra di gicoatori con ELO basso, il tuo ELO salirà poco. Quindi non è un semplice rapporto fra vittorie e sconfitte totali. Un buon giocatore ha un ELO di 2000 circa in magicka. Il mio è di 1600 :cry:

Quante delle partite che cominci durano più di tre-quattro minuti? ;) Se la player base fosse più ampia potrebbero venire fuori dei match belli tirati, senza una squadra che asfalta l'altra...

Downtime Today at 13:00 CEST - ELO Reset

Hi all.

We will take the servers down at 13:00 today to apply a mass ELO reset to all players. Looking at the stats we have available it seems this is the best way of getting good results from the new matchmaker's settings.

Taking into account the changes that were made in yesterday's patch, players should now form a traditional bell-curve on the ELO scale as opposed to the strange muddle we had as a result of the prior matchmaking system. This issue was caused by a bug in the system that allowed you to make ELO gains by chewing up players that were far lower ranked than yourself.

The result of us resetting people's ELO should immediately resolve long queue time issues, and in the long term ensure that people are where they should be in terms of their rating.

Edit: oggi mi è crashato ben tre volte. :asd:

Ciao,
finalmente qualcuno ha aperto un thread su questo gioco, io avevo partecipato alla versione Alpha e ultimamente ho ricominciato a giocare con questa ultima versione (purtroppo ho poco tempo da dedicargli).

Ma sbaglio ho in questa ultima versione i cristalli (per sbloccare le magie), si ottengono solo quando si passa di livello? Nella versione Alpha ricordo che bastava vincere un torneo o un match con un punteggio persolare superiore a 1500 punti....

giochi con un gameplay come questo ne esistono sempre meno, l'abilità della persona fa proprio tanto, e si ha un perfetto equilibri tra le capacità fisiche (ovvero nel eseguire velocemente le magie) e abilità mentali (reagire velocemente e correttamente agli attacchi nemici).

Spero non diventi troppo p2w in futuro, perchè così comè è già un perfetto passatempo.....

Sui cristalli non ho notato quando si ottengono, però ho notato che si ottengono molto più raramente, infatti dall'ultimo aggiornamento non ho sbloccato ancora nessun magick.
Inoltre nelle vecchie versioni in caso di vittoria l'esperienza ottenuta veniva moltiplicata per 1.5, cosa che ora non c'è, invce ora a parità di punteggio vittoria o sconfitta non fa differenza.

Edit: Poco fa avviando il gioco il sistema mi ha chiesto se volevo associare la warlock's robe al mio account, sapete cosa ho fatto per ottenerla? :D

Hi!

Today brings you our first "proper" patch since we left for vacation. The development team have had their batteries recharged and are ready to start bringing you awesome content again! The main changes this week were the addition of the new "Treasure chest" feature (unlock one each day for a chance at Gold Crowns, Crystals or extra-special exclusive robes) and some big changes in terms of information in the pre-game/lobby screen. You can now see in full detail what your opposition have equipped, even their Magicks!

Full patch notes:

Gameplay
- Speed modifier system rewritten, primarily to deal with problems concerning permanent slowdown/speed up.
- Gear now properly calculates speed bonuses by adding/subtracting their bonuses instead of multiplying, ie two separate modifiers of +4% and +10% provide a 14% boost instead of 1.04 x 1.10 = 14.4% boost.
- Movement speed is now presented in all stat screens as a percentage of the default base speed.
- Movement slowdown when charging projectiles is now removed upon release and not projectile impact. This indirectly dealt with one cause of permanent slowdown.
- "IMMUNE" GUI popup when resisting knockdowns for any reason.
- Partial earth armor now protects correctly against ice.

Spells
- Fix for sprays being blocked by storms.
- Always knockdown both players when their beams collide.
- Self-cast now buffers the input like forward cast.
- Healing is now applied after damage from combined spells such as AWW, to prevent taking damage from a net heal at full health.
- Spell-casting speed now doesn't affect channeling tick rate(would cause self heal to be slower when chilled).
- Magicks can now be selected and queued during spell-casting, this should make it easier to reliably cast Magicks quickly.
- Reduced Death damage on low charged ice projectiles. Reduced charge up time elemental affinity bonus for ice projectiles (i.e speccing into Cold affinity doesn't ramp-up the cast time quite so much).

Localisation
- Added more new strings to all languages, plus some re-translations overall.
- New Amulet of Nullification description.
- Updated Teddy Bear error message.
- Fix for chat commands info string in German referring to SHIFT as CTRL.

Bugfixes
- You can no-longer hit yourself with your own Conflagration.
- Halt key now works as expected when holding down LMB.
- Fixed issue with items not appearing in the store.
- Fixed rare condition which could put login server in closed_for_players state.
- Some rare case UI bug fixes.
- Fire Longsword+1 charge effect now despawns properly when player is killed and/or gibbed.
- Rusty Dagger now has its proper damage template, doing 3 attacks instead of 4.
- Fixed not being able to join training grounds.
- Fix for crash if client eula was accepted but LS was in wrong state.
- Crashfix when dying during extreme lag.
- Fixed broken resolution behavior.
- Don't try to pathfind on the navmesh when in air.
- Fixed potential crash when player is knocked down
- Beam crash fix.
- Projectile charge effect glitch fix.
- Server now destroys all broken connections, should deal with some persistent slugs.
- No longer allow several players to spawn simultaneously at the exact same spawn point, clipping into one another.

Sound
- Bearded Axe impact sound tweaks.
- Some new sounds for Steam spells.
- Fixed distortion issue with Play and Join sounds.
- Changed Gungnir ability sound so it doesn't loop after it's been charged up.
- Weapons can now trigger unique equipment sounds in the menu.
- Fix for the Sacred Beast Horn weapon ability charge sound.

GUI
- Bundle packs offer icons.
- Fixed GUI shader causing visual artifacts.
- Correct calculation of word wrapped text extents.
- Replaced a lot of old GUI with new GUI.
- Fully detailed lobby stats window when hovering over players. It now provides the exact same information as the gear screen.
- Disconnected/dead indicators on player portraits should now never appear at the same time.
- Chest introduction background texture, and Magicks info background texture without text.
- Chest description background picture added.
- Updated a UI effect texture.
- Topmenu glow effect texture updated.
- New icons for the store.
- Updated Lobby highlight texture.
- Chest topmenu button effect.
- Open button for Chest and Store icons update.
- Updated the Special Offer Icon base (May still need changes).
- Updated store icon textures.

Ieri ho provato la nuova mappa, carina, molto dinamica e con l' introduzione del teletrasporto lascia spazio a altre tattiche...
Niente nuova modalità di gioco, ma ho visto solo adesso che hanno aggiunto un premio giornaliero da poter richiedere.

Ieri ho fatto qualche partita ed ho notato che alla morte compare un messaggio in cui ti segnala la combinazione con cui sei stato ucciso e suggerisce una combinazione che si sarebbe potuta usare per evitare quella morte.

Mmm ottima cosa in effetti a volte succede di trovarti contro delle combo talmente veloci che non riesci a capire come abbiano fatto a ucciderti cosi velocemente.

Con i gift giornalieri qualcuno è riuscito a ottenere qualcosa che non siano monete? Per quanto mi riguarda solo la prima volta mi hanno regalato una veste... nulla di che...

La daily chest l'ho usata solo 3 volte ed ho sempre beccato un cristallo (e mai uno che potesse servirmi per il magick che sto cercando di risbloccare dall'ultimo reset :asd:).
A proposito, ho visto che sotto il baule c'è una barra con valori x2, x3, ecc.. ho pensato fossero dei moltiplicatori ma posso solo dire che aprendolo ben oltre le 15 ore circa del conteggio (penso un paio di giorni) quella barra era vuota, boh.

Quella barra si riempe con le vittorie giornaliere, non ricordo se solo nel walfare o anche nellla modalità duel. In pratica prima uno gioca cercando di ottenere più vittore possibili poi a fine giornata tenta la fortuna con la daily chest.
Adesso però non saprei dirti se per ogni vittoria corrisponde un nuovo moltiplicatore, ma non credo...

Mi sembra un modo intelligente per invogliare le persone a giocare :)

No con le vittorie dovresti aumentare il moltiplicatore, ogni volta che si apre il baule si dovrebbe avere un piccolissima percentuale di probabilità di ottenere un oggetto raro o di valore... il moltiplicatore dovrebbe aumentare questa percentuale..

Sisi fatto tutto anche il popup in gioco, solo che non trovavo la veste in gioco.

Si anche il la vecchia versione duello la trovavo molto più carina, quando eri fuori avevi la possibilità di studiare bene gli avversari in gioco :P

La faccenda non mi è molto chiara ma sembra che oggi (o da oggi? boh) gli utenti che hanno già Magicka ottengono "Magicka: Wizard Wars - Paradox Magicka Collection", è una cosa che ho letto poco fa (ed è comparso tra i dlc) ma non ho ben capito cosa comporta, forse è quel vestito che questa mattina mi ha fatto riscattare (Holy qualcosa, diversa da quella ottenuta tramite indiegala, questa qui da +200 vita riducendo la velocità).
Poi questa mattina ho giocato alla grande mentre ora non mi fa accedere (code: cucumber).
Infine segnalo un altro giveaway, questa volta sembra un'arma:

New Features

Tutorials in Training Grounds! Choose different ones from the list and learn the ropes!
Get Emotes when purchasing Robes, and use them In-Game and in the Lobby! Press the Hotkey to trigger them (Default: P) or use chat commands!
A new Warfare map with teleporters!

Water Affinity and Spells

Now controls Ice and Steam Resistance, 0.75-1.25.
Now controls size of Steam Sprays.
Now controls amount of Ice Projectiles spawned and their velocity.
Now controls movement speed while Water Spraying.
Now controls Steam and Water AoE size.
Now controls AoE range in projectiles.
Now controls amount of Ice Barriers spawned.
Water Spray width modifier changed from 0.9-1.1 to 0.8-1.2, length from 0.8-1.2 to 0.7-1.3
Steam Spray has a unique size modifier, length 0.7-1.3.
Water AoEs size modifier changed from 0.7-1.3 to 0.6-1.4.
Water Bomb and Mine AoEs has a unique range modifier of 0.8-1.2.
Projectile charge up changed from 0.75-1.25 to 0.8-1.2.
Ice and Ice+Earth projectiles now always deal same damage, but Water Affinity affects range velocity and amount.
Water Spray now has a significant movement speed slow down. (1 elements weighs 3, 2 weighs 4 and 3 weighs 5)
QF spray has base damage and range but has highest movement. QFF has base range but deals more damage. QQF deals base damage but has longer range and Wets.
Increased Water Spray max range from 6m to 9m. Steam remains at 6m.
QFF and !QFF now counts as consisting of two Steam elements, for damage purposes. This allows it to be blocked by !EQF.
Increased base push amount from Water Sprays. Min from 40-50 and max from 60-70.
Removed Push increase by affinity since lowering push amount makes you stun someone for longer time. Walk speed is now the main boost for Pushing.
A Half Water Ward now protects you against 50% of Steam/Ice Damage.
Water AoEs now only Push when Water is the majority element. For example a !WWQ won't Push, but a !QQS will.
Water Mines push nerfed somewhat due to bad data being repaired.
Weight of Steam elements in Sprays increased from 2 to 3.


Shield Affinity and Spells

Now controls the number of Barriers, Bombs, Mines and Storms spawned.
Affinity modifiers changed from (when Earth Affinity affected Earth Barriers) 0.65-1.35 to 0.5-1.5.
Mine Immunity to own elements have been removed.
Effectiveness of Wards increased. Changed from 0.75-1.25 to 0.5-1.5


Lightning Affinity and Spells

Removed duration modifier.
Now fires off 3 bolts per default again.
Hit angle widened from 30° to 37.5°.
The amount of Lightning in a Lightning spell now determins its range.
Lightning is now blocked better by Barriers. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)
Damage revamped. Lightning only used for base damage and range, Death deals most damage, Cold and Fire mostly adds effects.
Min range is now 3m, Max range 12m.
Force Lightning cast duration changed from 0.8sec to 1sec.
AoE Lightning cast duration changed from 1.2sec to 1.1sec.
AoE Lightning damage and range changed to match Force Cast.
Made som visual tweaks to Self-Electrocuted to make it pop more.
Lightning range kept per arc jump changed from 50% to 66%.
Lightning Storms' Life damage increased from 35 to 50. Lightning damage reduced from 70 to 35.
Improved AoE selection logic, bases desired targets on closest in range.
Implemented Height Limiter, set to 3m.
Life damage in Lightning changed from 50 to 65.


Cold Affinity

Beams' Cold damage changed from 0.65-1.35 to 0.7-1.3, Projectile AoE's Cold damage changed from 0.7-1.3 to 0.75-1.25.
Spray Length changed from 0.8-1.2 to 0.75-1.25. Max duration from 0.65-1.35 to 0.7-1.3.
Now controls Cold AoE size.
Removed affinity effect for DQR projectiles.
Water and Cold Storms no longer weak to each other.
Projectile charge up changed from 0.75-1.25 to 0.8-1.2.


Other Affinities

Life and Death Ice Damage changed from 0.65-1.35 to 0.7-1.3.
Removed Life Resistance perk from Life Affinity. A Life spec now only deal more Life damage in all aspects, they don't receive more of it. Self Heal tweaked so amount of healing made remains pretty much the same.
Life Ward Aura effectiveness changed from 0.6-1.4 to 0.5-1.5.
Earth Affinity now has a movement speed multiplier when wearing Earth Ward (Armor).
Earth projectile damage changed from 0.85-1.15 to 0.9-1.1.

Weapon Abilities

Flurry damage increased from 245 to 250.
Quickdraw damage increased from 395 to 450. Hit boxes changed to better fit animation.
Cleave damage decreased from 488 to 455.
Lunge charge time changed from 0.2sec to 0.5sec.
Valkyrier Spear now has the same damage as other Lunge weapons (420).
Burning Inferno damage increased from 149 Fire to 165 Fire.
Chilling Scourge damage changed from 40 Cold to 47 Cold.
Gunfire damage changed from 412 to 422.
Rush damage increased from 225 to 377. Push effect has been removed and hit boxes tweaked.
Throw Weapon projectile damage increased from 250 to 340.
Throw Annoying Thing is now a copy of Throw Weapon, AoE removed. Chain Damage changed from 122 to 195.
Snowball damage changed from 150+75 Cold to 105+100 Cold.

Knockdown Immunity changed from 0.2sec to 0.25sec to better allow for Wards to be used.
Chill's spellcast slowdown is back again. For each level of chill your speed value is lowered. Now 90% / 80% / 70% / Frozen.
Removed rotation speed affinity modifier for projectiles.
New Affinity descriptions in the Gear screen.
Lowered Earth Projectiles initial damage at 0 charge to reduce their spam viability somewhat. From 50/75/100 to 30/40/50.
AoE Blast cast time changed from 0.15 to 0.25. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)
AoE Blast Damage tweaks. Death from 125 to 100, Fire from 115 to 75, Steam from 180 to 225. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)
AoE elements in projectiles now all start at 1 damage at 0 charge time. Base projectile elements always have some damage. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)
Ice projectile min velocity changed from 25 to 5. Max velocity changed from 80 to 65. This to reduce spam. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)
Ice projectile damage tweaks. Ice changed from 175 to 150, Death from 40 to 50, Life from 250 to 225. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)


Bugfixes

Fix for knockdown speed bug when chilled.
Now print "EFFECTIVE" instead of "WEAKNESS" when susceptible to Life damage.
Fixed !QFF not getting any additional damage. (Fixed after Test Server feedback)

We like Magicka: Wizard Wars a bit, which is why Jim, Adam and Jim again have all written to profess their love. Yesterday was the game’s one-year anniversary, and we’ve consequently got a special RPS-themed in-game robe to give away.

It lets you hurl rocks harder and faster than others, fittingly.

What is any of this?

Wizard Wars takes the frenetic, slapstick violence of Magicka, clarifies the spell system a tad so there’s thousands instead of tens of thousands of element combinations, and then puts it towards creating a free-to-play multiplayer game. It’s technically still in beta, though that’s been open beta since back in May.

This robe, pictured in full below, provides a boost to the wearer’s earth stats, which as mentioned above determines how fine you are at flinging rocks. (It also comes with the “cower” emote, which is equally fitting.)

Are you an RPS Supporter and therefore one of our favourite people? You’ve already got it. The update the 18th will be deployed tomorrow the 19th instead, we found a critical issue we need to fix first.
Here's the patch notes!

* Verify your Paradox Account email and get rewarded with 3 Treasure Keys!
There will be a popup ingame and you can resend the email or change the email adress.

* Balance
Beam effect improvements - Beams grow in thickness to reflect damage ramping and display an end effect when reaching max length without hitting anything. Also prettier.
Melee special attacks are now aborted if the player triggering the attack is knocked down etc.
Always remove Wet status if damaged by Lightning or Cold regardless of ward
Tornado and Flame Tornado now have random initial rotation
Never hit caster with his own Tidal Wave

* Minor Things
[ai] Reset AI attack targets instantly when teleported
[sound] Added new spawn sound when teleporting
[duel] Hide staff and weapon when in stasis crystal between rounds
[localization] New tooltip for aspect ratio.

EDIT: Potential bonus for the 19th is a fix for the resolution reset bug - testing it right now!

First implementation of a "ping system", communicate with team members by clicking the mini-map directly or alt-clicking anywhere on screen. This is just the first version, so very simple, expect changes to come.

Today we introduced the much-requested ping feature to Magicka: Wizard Wars. You can summon friends to your assistance by simply clicking the minimap or alt-clicking where you stand. Snazzy!

On the theme of friendship, we also added a new Magick today! Use the Tier 2 Magick "Brain Wash" to take control of any previously aggressive NPC unit (yes, this includes Death!), they will follow you around and do your bidding until they meet their grisly end.

Hi all!

We will have an extended maintenance for US-W today to move some server hardware to some newer, shinier, machines. All other regions should be up much sooner. Additionally there'll be some balance changes. Patch notes below!

In-game Store

Has had a usability overhaul. Shopping should now be a more pleasurable experience!


Magicks

Tornado: Increased cast time of Tornado with 0.25 seconds.
Geyser: Increased cast time of Geyser with 0.1 seconds.
Natures Call: Decreased Natures Call direct impact damage from 400 to 250.
Natures Call: Decreased Natures Call splash radius and push strength quite a bit.
Flame Tornado: Increased Flame Tornado duration and movement speed
Flame Tornado: Substantially increased Flame Tornado damage (20%).
Midsummer's Blessing: Increased healing power 10%.


Spells

Increased healing capacity of Life+Ice shards (QWR) on lower charge levels.
Minor decrease of Lightning damage and the cold damage component in Lightning. (about 6% less damage for Pure Lightning and 5% for Lightning+Cold spells)
Increased Elemental Wall/Storm size slightly to better match visual size.
Increase Elemental Wall/Storm damage tick rate slightly.

Hello,

Here are the patch notes for this weeks patch. It's small but interesting.

* Added Ingame Magick Selection.
Players can change magicks ingame. Rightclick icon or Leftclick triangle above the icon to bring up a list of the available magicks in the same tier.
There are currently no requirements, cost or punishment for changing magicks inround. Please test this feature a week and give feedback.

* Hotlink Treasure Chest Keys
There is now a button available in the Chest screen, hotlinking players directly to the store.

* Various bugfixes / improved backend stability.

There are no balance changes except for ingame magicks selection.

Now we have a functional custom games system and it's been out in the wild for a while we thought that now is a good time to get kicked off with another Go4WizardWars series! Now we have all the pieces we need to make what should be a very entertaining competition, without any silly point-grinding mechanics.

New Trailer Celebrates Shift from Early Access to On-Time Access

STOCKHOLM – April 9, 2015 — Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games with intent to conjure, today announced that Magicka: Wizard Wars will be officially released on April 28, 2015. As of Tuesday, April 14, Magicka: Wizard Wars will conjure up:
Transgress to Progress: An all-new progression system has been added to the game, allowing players to earn tokens at each level earned, redeemable on the new Masteries Screen for new Magicks, items, and more in a much more customizable fashion. Fashions can also be mastered if Wizards are stylish enough.
Try Before You Die: New Magick Scrolls allow players to sample powerful Magicks before unlocking them, including all-new Magicks like the Frost Bomb and Stasis spells. Decide ahead of time if a brutal sub-zero death is really right for you!
Our Crowning Achievement: A fully revamped in-game economy allowing all items to be purchased for crowns, earnable via gameplay or available for in-game purchase. New Starter Packs are also available, containing big fat piles of Crowns, Mastery Tokens, and Treasure Keys!

New Mastery Progression Tree

We've completely reworked how a Wizard progresses in their pursuit of battleground domination. In addition to the store format we have now we have implemented a "Mastery" tree.

Simply put, it's a great big beast of a tree that allows you to choose where you want to specialise your Wizard, you can choose to build along a particular element specialisation, or work on many at the same time. The choice is yours.

Mastery Tokens will be awarded at the end of round, so those unscrupulous Wizards who tend to flee from battle will wish to re-think their decisions.

Important Note: Any existing items you own, regardless where they may appear in the Mastery tree are still owned and useable by you. Anything you owned/could use before theses changes remains the same.


Random Loot at Round End

On the subject of reasons to stick around until the end of a round, random free stuff!

Now at the end of round you can be gifted with any number of goodies, it may be crowns, it could be Mastery Tokens, it could be a robe. Who doesn't like extra chances at shiny stuff? :)

Level Locks Removed, All Items Purchased With Crowns

This one is a biggie. All level locks have been removed from items, as have real-money prices. From here on out all purchases will be made with Gold Crowns.

We heard your feedback about the progression system and decided to do this big overhaul in conjunction with the new Mastery system. Now it is possible to get any item you could wish for in the game at any point you wish (Mastery tree unlocks excluded), just be prepared to put in some effort to earn it!

For those of you sitting on a big Crown stockpile...congrats!


Revamped Magicks Screen

In combination with the Mastery/store rework we've removed crystals as a purchasing currency on the Magicks screen.

NOTE: Although your crystals will no longer be shown in the UI your current total is recorded.

Got a tonne of crystals? The next point is for you.


Crafting Button
You will notice the ominous appearance of a crafting button on the UI. This is not immediately in use yet, but preparation for the crafting system. Expect to see a use for those crystals here.


Stasis Magick

Does the thrill of battle sometimes get a little TOO thrilling? Fancy a break now and then?

If so, the new "Stasis" Magick is for you! You know the little yellow bubble from the start of Duel Mode? You get one of those, whenever you like! Beware: Whatever intended to kill you when you popped your stasis Magick could well still be there to kill you when it wears of...


Frostbomb Magick

This Tier 2 Magick does exactly what it says on the tin, it's a bomb...of frost. Call down a frozen bomb that after a few seconds will explode, dealing Cold damage in an AOE.


Consumable Magicks

Would you rather try-before-you-buy? Like to save your mastery points for something else other than Magicks?

You can now purchase consumable Magick scrolls to enable you to use Magicks you don't yet own for a limited number of charges.

Note: This doesn't change the mechanics of Magicks in any way, or give access to "exclusive" Magicks. It merely allows those who have not unlocked Magicks yet a method of having access to them, they function the same as if you owned the Magick.


Crown Packs/Starter Packs

In order to complement the new store set-up and progression system we have added new Crown packs and Starter packs. Starter Packs will contain a mixture of Crowns, Magick Scrolls and Mastery points.


Netcode Stuff!

Our network coding Wizard is starting to show the fruits of his efforts, the focus so far has been primarily on beams. The new changes should be particularly apparent to those with higher latency.

Note: We have noticed some weird behavior from the Teleport Magick. We are on it.

Big new patch is rolling out now!

PLEASE NOTE: Servers are down for maintenance. We expect them to be up and running some time this afternoon (CET). Thank you for your patience.

We really wanted to get some bigger balance changes in before we patched, unfortunately though some extra-thorough last-minute QA meant we didn't have the resources needed. As such please see what we DID fit in below:

[Magicks] Geyser and tornado now has longer telegraphs, tornados speed increased, both magicks now have shorter duration, shorter air time for caught players and longer cast-animation (from 0.8sec to 2sec).

[Magicks] Fixed proper teleport settings (3 years in the making), changed max distance from 10 to 7.5m, min from 2 to 1m.

[Spells] Lightning is now blocked by storms and not barriers, initial arc width reduced from 37.5 to 30 degrees.

As I said, we DID have some other changes on the cards, I'll try and get NDKarlsson to pop onto the forums with a post and we can have a proper chat about them. :)

Additionally, these are the changes you will see rolling out today.

New Map for Soul Harvest Released!

SOUL HARVEST MAP 2

A brand new map for the Soul Harvest game mode. It's a smaller and more intense map, with some new timed activities and a different disposition of NPC's. Twice the trolling so to speak. ;)
The biggest issue the dev team sees with the current Soul Harvest is that the rounds take too long time - players quit and it's incredibly annoying for everybody.
We will begin tracking quitters and are working on a "cooldown" system that makes quitters cool down before they can play again.



SOUL HARVEST TWEAKS AND BUGFIXES

Lowered Required Souls to 200, from current 300. This should reduce the match length towards the target of 12-15 minutes.
Removed an exploit where players could become immune to Effigy sentry damage. Please play nice, k?
Magic Missiles are now correctly stopping their sounds, also removed 2 turret loops, so only 1 is played per base.
Lowered volumes for Effigy and Magic Missiles.
Trolls and Orcs now break through barriers visually.
Remaining Effigy Sentries are destroyed on Win.
Mortar Goblins are now immune to their elements and related status effects, and weak to the opposite element.
Announcement text added for Focus pick-up.
Gamemode timer synced with log and UI.
Proper post mortem UI text spacing.


XP BOOSTERS

We are testing our new Achievement system and celebrate this by using it to give you a free 24h booster! Oh, and we have great plans for the boosters in the near future. If you have one, you won't be disappointed!



SCORING

Lower XP reward for killing NPC's, more XP reward for Soul pickups.
Made it easier to do an "assist" (changed the damage tracking duration to 15 seconds instead of 5 seconds).


MAGICKS

If a player selects a Magick to cast and then switches to another Magick in the same category, the placement indicator of the first Magick will no longer be displayed on the ground.
It's now possible to change Magicks with caps-lock enabled.
The Geyser Magick now applies the wet status effect as intended.


TUTORIAL/TRAINING GROUND

PLAY button glow is now removed if you join a party during tutorial.
PLAY button no longer stroboscoping when joining/leaving party during tutorial.
Custom match button disabled during tutorial.
Crowns/boost buttons disabled during tutorial.
Added "back to menu" button in training grounds.


SPECTATOR MODE

Hide mouse cursor if not moving it.
Improved kill log color coding for spectator mode.
Brightened red color, should be more friendly for video compression.


SETTINGS SCREENS

Graphics settings quality presets now works as intended.
Quality setting for lighting no longer interferes with anti aliasing.
Keybindings reset to default.
Changes discarded when exiting settings without acceping changes.
Arrow buttons now make sound when you click them.
Audio settings mute sound now also mutes music.

Grazie per i continui aggiornamenti, è un po che non ci gioco, anche per il fatto che ho cambiato pc e mi tocca reinstallare tutto.
Ma almeno qui posso trovare tutte le modifiche apportate senza dovermele andare a cercare in giro per il web :D

Tu che lo segui di più, secondo te è migliorato negli ultimi mesi? Dopo il rilascio ufficiale la community aumentata o peggiorata?

A me tutto sommato sembra migliorato, cioé anche io per un bel pò non ci ho giocato ed in certo senso non riesco più a giocare efficacemente come una volta ed in questi giorno sto provano un bel pò la nuova modalità soul harvest, in fin dei conti è una versione base del gameplay di magicka e becco sempre gente, non mi basta altro per svagarmi. :D

Spells
* Barriers
- Added small decal for Earth Barriers.
- Ice Barrier HP increased from 150 to 500, increasing its lifetime.
- Ice Barriers are now immune to Cold and Water damage.
- ED now spawns half as many barriers as EDD. EDX remains the same.

* Mines
- Are now ignored by Lightning Bolts.
- EW/ES now spawns half as many mines as EWW/ESS. EWX/ESX remains the same.

* Storms
- Damage unified among different Storm sizes. The amount of elements now only controls size, ergo EFF is larger than EF but deals the same damage.

- Turn speed (time it takes for it to complete a turn) changed from 0.5sec to 1sec.
- Range increased from 1.5 to 2.
- Damage tick rate changed from 0.4sec to 0.5sec.
- Fire damage increased from 35 to 150.
- Magick damage changed from 35 to 0.

* Tidal Wave
- Earth damage increased from 30 to 65.
- Magick damage changed from 30 to 0.

* Conflagration
- Damage changed from 500 to 450.

* Frost Bomb
- Direct hit damage changed from 110 Cold to 110 Cold.
- AoE damage changed from 150 Cold to 100 Cold.
- Range changed from 5.5 to 6.

* Revive
- Revive and heal amount changed from 750HP to 500HP.

* Displace
- Min range changed from 20m to 40m.

* Raise Dead
- Added follow state for zombies when no enemies are near.
- Changed deterioration-damage-rate from 1sec to 2sec.
- Deterioration damage unchanged at 50.

Affinities
* Water
- Movement speed penalty/bonus changed from -25% at 0 Affinity to -20%, and from +25% at 100 Affinity to +20%.
- Removed all AoE range modifiers. (Self cast, barrier/mine explosions, projectile explosions)

* Cold
- Removed all AoE range modifiers.
- Cold base resistance penalty/bonus changed from -50% at 0 Affinity to -35%, and from +50% at 100 Affinity to +35%.

* Lightning
- Removed self cast AoE range modifier.
- Reduced Lightning Bolt max length penalty/bonus from -30% at 0 Affinity to -20%, and from +30% at 100 Affinity to +20%.

Big Stuff
Added a means of tracking/dealing with "problem" players.
Crafting!
Server merge. In order to optimise the matchmaking experience we have done some big changes to the server infrastructure. Now there will be two core regions to choose from, US and Europe.


Bugfixes
Forfeit UI now hidden when match is over.
Forfeit automatically if you're AFK.
Fixed issue with numbers appearing connected in custom match player amount indicators.
Fix for fire mage skin name being too long.
Player should now be properly pushed away by appearing troll even when standing next to troll door.
Fixed goblin shaman killing self when no line of sight and firing into a wall.
Removed overlapping forfeit text, removed forfeit from duel.
Duel portraits don't overlap with the timer anymore.
Added button sounds to crown and experience buttons.

Important Update Regarding Magicka: Wizard Wars

It’s with regret that we have to announce that we will be closing down our servers for Magicka: Wizard Wars as of July 21st 2016.

When the decision came to halt development on the game we left the servers open so that our small but passionate player base could still continue to enjoy the game as it was, we hope that this has been a fun time for you all (the odd server gremlin aside)! Unfortunately though we have reached the point where we can’t economically justify to continue running the costly server infrastructure. To make things clear, these last 9 months haven’t been a money-making exercise for us (for the most part server costs weren’t covered) we simply wanted to let those of you who loved the game play for as long as was possible.


Wizard Wars was a project close to our hearts, and although the original Dev team are now working on other projects within the Paradox organization We still have fond memories!


How will the shutdown work?


Servers will remain open for a period of 3 months from today.

Shortly before this post all items/bundles with a real-money cost have been removed or converted to be purchased with in-game crowns only.

We will do our best to introduce any old content we have collecting dust in our archives, so you may see some new bits and pieces appearing (Not 100%, depends on work needed, we will try though!).


Should you have boosters active that expire AFTER 21st July 2016 please contact our support (www.paradoxplaza.com/support) and we can look into refunds where appropriate.

Finally a big thanks from all of us who’ve worked on the project, to you, the fans. The passion and feedback from you throughout the whole development of the game has been nothing short of awesome!
