Dubbio: s.m.a.r.t. ed allarmi HdHealt, disco rotto ?

Salve a tutti,
ieri mi è successa una cosa strana. Ho 2 hd, 1 da 40gb per winXP e documenti e 1 da 120gb x tutto il resto. Ieri aprendo una cartella del 120gb mi andava la cpu al 100% di utilizzo, anche dopo svariati minuti non accennava a "calmarsi", explorer.exe assorbiva praticamente tutto il processore. Riavvio e riporovo ad aprire la medesima cartella, nulla da fare. Installo la demo di TuneUp Utilities 2006 e faccio una bella pulizia a windows. Riavvio e riprovo, nulla da fare. Faccio un bel defrag che erano anni che non facevo, riavvio e riprovo, nulla da fare, quella cartella manda sempre la cpu al 100%.
Tramite "unlocker" gli chiedo di sbloccare l'unico file presente nella cartella, visto che pare non serva a nulla gli chiedo cortesemente di cancellarlo al prossimio riavvio. Ora che il file è stato cancellato (era un filmato) pare sia tutto ok.
Non convinto, all'inizio già mi ero inventato di formattare (quasi), installo HdHealt ma mi da degli strani messaggi sul disco in quesione:
- raw read error rate - value 55 - trshold 6 - worst 50 - inc +2 (riga di colore blu)
- temperature - value 36 - threshold 0 - worst 45 - inc -3 (riga di colore rosso)
- Hardware ECC recovered - value 55 - threshold 0 - worst 49 - inc +2 (riga di colore blu)

l'unico dei 3 valori che non mi preoccupa o quasi è la temperatura, Motherboard Monitor indica 36 gradi (+o- costanti in un ambiente casalingo di circa 15/20 gradi).

Poi, 2° problema:
Mi appare un popup, generato sempre da HdHealt dove dice "Attribute Raw Read Error Rate changes from 55 to 56", sempre nell'intorno di questi 2 valori. Leggendo il log non capisco se si riferisca al 40bg (Quantum Fireball AS40.0) oppure al 120gb (ST3120022A):

Se dentro la cartella che ti ha dato quei problemi c'era un file AVI, allora si tratta di un problema noto: la funzione "anteprima" di windows, che cerca di fornire una preview del file ancora prima di aprirlo, manda spesso in crash l'explorer, specialmente se il file avi è danneggiato o è stato creato con qualche codec che non è installato nel sistema. In pratica, l'explorer si intestardisce a leggere il file anche se non è in grado di farlo, con il risultato che il file risulta bloccato (non lo si può spostare, rinominare, cancellare, ecc..) e, non di rado, l'explorer stesso finisce per impallarsi.

Il problema si risolve facilmente con questa piccola utility (che ho provato personalmente e funziona):

E' solo un eseguibile, non necessita di installazione e permette di abilitare e disabilitare la funzione anteprima di Win XP tutte le volte che si vuole.

Per quanto riguarda la verifica dello stato di salute degli HD, ti consiglio di utilizzare HD Tune: è molto più facile ed intuitivo da usare e meno "terroristico" rispetto ad altri software.

L'utilità blocca-anteprima l'ho installata e funziona benone :D , unica pecca, devi riavviare dopo averlo usato.

Ho anche avviato HD tune, tutto ok se non fosse per "spint retry count" segnato in giallo sul disco da 120gb, come valori mi dice
current 100 - worst 100 - thresholdd 97 - data 0 - status ok

comunque lo tengo controllato e vedo :)
